Our Horse Racing Tips Staking Plan

Each selection we advised is a bet of £10 win single per horse. This is unless it is otherwise stated that is should be a £5 each way bet.

Do be aware that betting on horse racing is difficult to win consistently. Previous performance is no guarantee of future success, and you should only bet with what you can afford to lose. Check out their best bets for today below.

Horse Racing Betting Tips

Tip 1 - 1:15 Aintree - Bleu d’Enfer

After being beaten out of sight by what was clearly an handicap blot, Blue d’Enfer gained compensation next time out. He’s ran two good races at the minimum trip after being campaigned over too far during the summer. Back in here of the same mark he was just touched off on his last visit to Aintree, and with match fitness on his side against the market principles he looks too big a price.

Tip 2 - 1:35 Doncaster - Bladey Lady

Very early forays suggested that Bladey Lady wasn’t up to much, but a break before coming back this autumn has brought about a real change in fortunes. She’s won four of her last five and now up to a mark of 76. However, winning by nearly two lengths from a mark of 71 last time on soft ground, like Saturday’s conditions will be, gave the impression that a five-pound rise may not yet be enough to halt her progression.

Tip 3 - 1:45 Aintree - Mange Tout

We’re still in could-be-anything territory for Gordon Elliott’s four-year-old, Mange Tout. Has handled pretty much everything that has come her way. When last seen she came away victor cosily in the Aintree juvenile hurdle, beating Selma De Vary who followed up with a Grade 1 win of her own in France next time out. She comes up against more experienced rivals in this high-class race, but with that four-year-old’s allowance, she could take advantage and keep on best of all at the end.

Tip 4 - 4:05 Aintree - Nelouba

A very interesting runner for Jonjo O’Neill in the bumper in the final race at Aintree. Already a winner on the level in France, there is a suspicion that Nelouba could just be a bit more forward than her rivals who are all seeing a racecourse for the first time. She's an expensive purchase who might start to repay some of that here.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).

Where Can I Watch the Daily Horse Racing Selections Run?

The best place is always on the racecourse but that’s not very practical so when it’s not on terrestrial TV with the likes of Sky Sports Racing and ITV (or ITV 4) then the best way to get instant access to live pictures is with a live streaming bookmaker – try these three below for the best of the bunch. We've also got a page specifically dedicated to Cheltenham Festival live streaming.
