Pure Gold has largely struggled since winning a pair of handicap hurdles last autumn when rated 95. As a result of those wins, her mark soared to 110 and she’s failed to land a blow. The less said the better about Morris Dancer’s latest effort when last in a Listed race when going off at 9/4 favourite. Won a Listed race last year and returned with a game effort in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot. Step up in trip is interesting and an unknown. If it brings about more improvement, he could run the favourite close.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
