Tip 2 - 3:10 Newbury - Never So Brave

A look at the names that have won Never So Brave’s last few contests tell you everything you need to know about the company he’s been keeping. Taking on the likes of Bow Echo, Opera Ballo and Qirat was always going to be difficult, but there doesn’t look to be anything of this calibre in this race. The return to seven furlongs should suit and Andrew Balding’s gelding should be able to claim an overdue victory.

Tip 3 - 4:25 Newmarket - Stormy Music

Came good on the promise previously shown to get off the mark at the fifth time of asking over course and distance earlier this month. Ran away quite comfortably despite edging left on the run in. Only up four pounds for that success and still has the very handy seven-pound claimer Alfie Redman on board. Looks a good shout to make it a second career win here.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
