Tip 2 - 3:22 Gowran Park - Ohailbhic

All three of Ohalibhic’s career wins have come on the all-weather, but there’s cause for optimism for today’s run on turf. He was in the form of his life back in Mark, winning back-to-back races at Dundalk before a four-month break. His comeback run at Naas last month was likely just a pipe-opener and he should be spot on today. With a few of this field liking to get on with things, the race should be run to suit this hold-up performer.

Tip 3 - 3:45 Beverley - Glenfinnan

We’re willing to overlook the effort at Thirsk last time out, as he finished a distant 12th of 15. That followed a grand effort over course and distance to finish second from a pound higher than today’s 78. Had a CD win off this same mark in May too, with the form of that being franked since. Has previously won from a mark of 93 and should retain some of that ability to be there or thereabouts in this 0-80.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
