Tip 1 - 2:40 Haydock - Zurich
Zurich has been in fine fettle this season, claiming a pair of consecutive wins in October before a creditable third in his next outing and an excellent fifth in the Plate at Cheltenham. That represented a significant step up in grade for the seven-year-old and he certainly didn’t look out of place so there’s no reason he can’t improve in today’s Class 1, especially given his ground versatility.

Tip 2 - 3:00 Newmarket - Boiling Point
After going mighty close in the Group 3 Strensall Stakes at York, Boiling Point switched to handicapping and landed the Cambridgeshire here at Newmarket off a mark of 109. He did it from the front that day and a repeat of those tactics may well pay off in this small field. His comeback run in the Winter Derby was a touch disappointing, but he can be expected to strip fitter today and looks to have a huge chance.

Tip 3 - 3:35 Newmarket - Inis Mor
Some strong form for this Group 3 contest, but all of it came last year from the main protagonists as two-year-olds. All will need to go well fresh, which is why we side with Inis Mor, who won twice at this track in the first two races of career last year. Was then a really solid second at Longchamp in October to a Group 2 winner, who has beaten today’s favourite by two lengths further than Inis Mor. Third home that day subsequently won a Listed race next time out and fourth home also won next time out to frank the form.

Tip 4 - 5:00 Haydock - Bhaloo
Bhaloo looked like a horse to follow after picking up a couple of wins last year, but then his form fell apart towards the end of the season. Perhaps he was running to often as he hit the track 8 times in all. What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
