Still waiting for his first win on turf, Rogue Rebellion has quietly enjoyed a decent first full season that’s culminated in recent form of 34345. Two of those were over course and distance where he was within two lengths of the winner both times, and he had another go over C&D in May that saw him finish second by a neck. This three-year-old clearly likes Bath and his rating dropping down to 46 may prove to be handy.

To say that Anthony Brittain’s five-year-old has lost his way after a promising start to his career would be an understatement. But we just can’t ignore his previous form. Won a Group 3 as a two-year-old, with three in behind that day now rated in the 100s having won at Group, Listed and Graded levels. Further placed efforts in Listed and Group level, and yet hasn’t won since that Group 3 in November 2023. That means he’s now rated a lowly 71, but nothing in this race has come close to his glories of old.

Tip 4 - 4:07 Navan - Annie Batt

These late season maidens can often be a bit of a minefield. Any horse that’s had a few chances to win but hasn’t managed to do so must have questions to answer, while those making their debut may have had interrupted starts to their careers to only be seeing a racecourse now. A chance is taken on Annie Batt, who was a solid second on her debut (one place in front of Bit Of A Buzz) before bombing out over further on her second start. The return to five furlongs should suit and she may well deliver on her initial promise.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
