Tip 1 - 1:30 Chester - Adonius
We all know about the record of horses on the inside two stalls in Chester sprints, so we’re always keen on those horses in any case. But when it’s an unbeaten horse there, we’re all the more interested. Won convincingly on debut last month at Musselburgh and followed up with a slightly more laboured victory in a Class 2 this time. Racing Post’s RPR ratings suggest he’s got plenty more improvement to come, and the inside rail in a five furlong is sure to bring that out in him.

Tip 2 - 2:15 Newton Abbot - Bold Step
There looks to be a lot of dead wood in here, with plenty in the field showing little to no ability thus far. That doesn’t apply to Bold Step, who travelled like a good horse in an Exeter bumper on debut in January. No switched to hurdles with his main market rival returning from over a year off and also making his debut over hurdles, this looks like a huge opportunity.

Tip 3 - 2:45 Newton Abbot - Elysian Knight
It’s been a solid 2026 so far for Elysian Knight, going 2434, but he will almost certainly appreciate going back down to Class 4 after being one or two grades higher for the last 12 months. He’s yet to really make an impact at 3m or longer but at a lower mark and a lower grade in a small field, he should be able to be right up there at the end today.

Tip 4 - 3:40 Chester - Watcha Snoop
After running down the field in some big races Watcha Snoop has a chance again trying a handicap for the first time. The form of his win second time out at Ascot is working out well, which suggests an opening mark of 85 is well within his capabilities. The ground is quicker than it was on that day but that shouldn’t be an issue as he finished just a couple of lengths behind the now 110 rated Words Of Truth on good to firm.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
