Euro 2024 will take place between 14 June - 14 July in Germany, with England virtually certain to be one of the 24 teams competing. Ahead of their away clash against Ukraine on Saturday, Gareth Southgate's team boast a 100% qualifying record, and they're among the favourites with betting sites to win a European Championship for the first time in their history.

The big question is which players will make up the squad that represents England next summer. We've seen Levi Colwill and Eddie Nketiah called up to the latest squad, with the Chelsea defender now odds-on to remain in the set-up next summer, although the Arsenal forward is given a slimmer chance of making the final cut.

Football betting sites have betting odds available for every player that can conceivably make the squad. Raheem Sterling is a notable recent omission, although Chelsea team-mate Conor Gallagher retains his spot in the squad. The best betting apps still think the midfielder has work on his hands to make final group.

Can Nketiah Remain in England Squad Next Summer?

Eddie Nketiah was the surprise inclusion in Gareth Southgate's latest England squad. The Arsenal forward has been faring well when deputising for the injured Gabriel Jesus this season, although few expected the 24-year-old to get the international nod ahead of players such as Raheem Sterling.

Nketiah will hope to get some game time against either Ukraine or Scotland in the upcoming matches, although the bookies don't think the former Leeds striker will end up making the final cut, with him likely to play fewer minutes now that Jesus is fit and firing for the Gunners.

However, the player has clearly caught Southgate's eye, and the manager tends to be loyal towards squad members once they have been selected, so perhaps there is some merit in backing Nketiah to have a real breakthrough season for Arsenal, which would end up seeing him feature on the plane to Germany.

Eze and Colwill Now Odds-On For Euro 2024 Squad

Gareth Southgate has picked his latest England squad to face Ukraine and Scotland this month, with Eberechi Eze once again included after recently making his debut, while Levi Colwill has also been selected after starring for Chelsea this season.

Eze made his Three Lions bow against Malta recently, coming on as a substitute for James Maddison, and the 25-year-old continues to shine brightly for Crystal Palace in the Premier League this season, recently scoring against Wolves.

The former QPR forward was nowhere near the England squad for the 2022 World Cup, but his performances for the Eagles have now earned him an international call-up. He has previously represented the Three Lions at U20 and U21 level, with Gareth Southgate impressed by what he's seen from a player who is now trading at odds-on to be heading to Germany.

The bookies also think that the uncapped Colwill has a higher than 50% probability of representing England at Euro 2024, with the defender having earned a call-up which means he's likely to feature against Ukraine or Scotland.

According to a football betting app, the 20-year-old centre-half Colwill is odds-on to be part of the 26-man squad for Euro 2024. He has played every minute of Chelsea's four Premier League encounters and he looks set to add to the 11 appearances for England U21's with a senior cap.

Sterling Big Odds-On For Euro 2024 Despite Omission

Raheem Sterling has once again been left out of the latest England squad despite some bright performances for Chelsea this season. The 28-year-old has started every Premier League match for the Blues this term, although Gareth Southgate has opted not to include a player who has earned 82 caps for the Three Lions, scoring 20 goals and helping the team reach the Euro 2020 final.

The football betting sites still think that the former Liverpool and Manchester City man has an international future, and that is reflected in the odds-on quotes that he breaks back into the England squad when Southgate decides the twenty-six players who are going to represent their country.

Sterling will hope to keep demonstrating in the Premier League that he has the credentials to help England win Euro 2024, although the manager has stated that there's nobody that deserves to be left out right now to accomodate this experienced operator.

Maddison and Henderson Also Likely to Make Cut

Leading up to the 2022 World Cup, James Maddison had more goal involvements than any other English player, and the massive clamour for the former Leicester City midfielder to be included in Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad led to the playmaker being called up.

Maddison had a few injury problems during the 2022/23 season, although the fact that he was called up for the first Euro 2024 qualifiers and has now retained his place in the squad suggests he's now a preferred option for Southgate, especially after a big-money move to Tottenham Hotspur where he's already started to flourish.

Jordan Henderson has made 77 appearances for England and was prominent for the Three Lions at the 2022 World Cup, although many wondered if a controversial move to Al-Ettifaq would spell the end of his international career.

However, the 33-year-old will has been included and the latest betting odds with new betting sites suggest that he could yet make the 26-man squad that represents England at Euro 2024, although the decision to leave the Premier League might have reduced his chance of being included.

Bookies Expecting Manchester City Contingent to Be Included

New betting sites are sure to suggest that a number of Manchester City players will be included in the squad, with John Stones, Kyle Walker, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips among them.

It is clear that Gareth Southgate is more likely to pick a player at Manchester City than any other club, with Phillips getting the nod in the latest squad despite a distinct lack of football for the Citizens since arriving from Leeds.

Walker and Stones remain reliable defensive assets, while Grealish and Foden surely need to remain fit and they will be included in future England squads now that both players have broken into the England setup.

Alexander-Arnold Also Set for Germany

Trent Alexander-Arnold remains a divisive figure among football fans, with the Liverpool full-back having been part of the 26-man squad that represented England in Qatar, although one always suspected that was partly down to Reece James being injured.

James was temporarily back to full fitness in March and that led to Alexander-Arnold being omitted from that particular Three Lions squad. However, the Liverpool defender has now returned to the set-up after finding some excellent form for his club, although injury prevents him being involved against Ukraine and Scotland.

Although Trent was listed as a defender in the previous England call-up information, Southgate has started to deploy the versatile player in a central midfield role. Jurgen Klopp has increasingly been giving this talented player the chance to play further forward. Interestingly, it's a similar role to the one John Stones has started to take up for Manchester City.

Mount Could Struggle to Make Three Lions Squad

Mason Mount is trading at odds-on to be in England's Euro 2024 squad, although there's no certainty that the midfielder will be included in the 26-man squad. It's been a while since the Manchester United new signing demonstrated his international quality, with the 24-year-old having made thirty-six appearances for his country and scoring five goals.

Mount recently picked up an injury which has ruled him out of the past two Red Devils clashes and that meant a place in the England squad wasn't going to happen. However, it could be that the likes of Conor Gallagher and Kalvin Phillips are now ahead of the former Chelsea man in the pecking order.

Maguire Remains in England Squad But is Given Warning

Gareth Southgate has several dilemmas when it comes to picking his 26-man squad for Euro 2024. This includes Harry Maguire's situation at Manchester United, with the former club captain continuing to warm the bench for the Red Devils.

Erik ten Hag has opted for Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez as his first-choice central defensive partnership, with Maguire also behind Victor Lindelof in the pecking order, although the England man did recently make a cameo appearance at the Emirates Stadium and might actually get some game time over the coming weeks.

Southgate has likened Maguire's situation to that of Kalvin Phillips at Manchester City, although the defender's speculated move away from Old Trafford during the transfer window didn't happen. Nevertheless, it's more a case of whether the player will make the starting 11 rather than be completely omitted from the 26-man squad.
