Kyrie Irving faces his biggest challenge of the 2019-20 season thus far Wednesday night when he and the Brooklyn Nets visit Atlantic Division rival Philadelphia.

Bettors should be wary of investing in the Nets. The team is on the flip side end of a home-and-road, back-to-back scheduling challenge. The Nets face an Atlantic Division foe in Philadelphia that is nine games up on Brooklyn in the standings. And the Nets wasted a 32-point, 11-assist performance by Irving Tuesday night at Barclays Center as they got throttled 118-107 by the Utah Jazz.

Irving is scheduled to play Wednesday in what will be his first back-to-back appearance since he returned on Sunday from a two-month break, which was driven by a shoulder injury.

The 76ers are 6-point favorites at home, according to the latest odds at BetMGM on an over/under of 218.5. Philly was -341 on the moneyline at PointsBet, while Brooklyn is +260.

Irving has played in only one-third of his team’s 39 games this season. But he’s optimistic about being ready to face the Sixers on the road Wednesday.

“I had to make up that time,” Irving said according to the New York Post. "... Now where I am it’s just trying to stay even-keeled, be as healthy as I can be and just be with these guys and get better.”

The Sixers come home after a short two-game road trip during which they lost 101-95 at Indiana Monday and 109-91 Saturday in Dallas.

The Sixers are +130 to win the Atlantic Division at SugarHouse, while daring Nets bettors can get +20000 odds at Bet365. Meanwhile, confident Sixers backers can get their team at +1500 to win the Eastern Conference at 888sport.

The Sixers (25-16 overall) are 18-2 at home, having won four straight at Wells Fargo Center. Meanwhile, the Nets went 13-13 without Irving, who has 53 points in two games since his return.

In their first meeting this season, the Nets – minus Irving – beat the Sixers on Dec. 8 in Brooklyn 109-89. The last time the Nets played at Philadelphia, Brooklyn was bounced 122-100 in Game 5 of the 2019 conference quarterfinals.
