For the first time, live betting odds are coming to the telecast of this week’s PGA Tour tournament.

The PGA Tour announced Monday that BetMGM will provide live betting odds for all four rounds of The CJ Cup at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas. The tournament, which begins Thursday and runs through Sunday, can be seen on The Golf Channel.

Golf betting odds will be shown twice an hour, featuring leaderboards with integrated “open” and “current” odds to win, along with odds for head-to-head matchups, top finishes, winning margin, wire-to-wire winner, hole-in-ones and playoffs, according to a news release.

“We are excited to build upon our recently announced Official Betting Operator relationship with BetMGM by activating this partnership at The CJ Cup at Shadow Creek,” Norb Gambuzza, PGA Tour senior vice president for media and gaming, said in the news release. “The focus of our sports betting partnerships is to engage fans in new and creative ways.

”As an element of that strategy, we began integrating live odds onto Tour digital platforms in August and now we look forward to learning from this first-time test in a live telecast.”

Official Tour Betting Operator

On Aug. 3, BetMGM signed a multi-year content and marketing relationship to become an official betting operator of the PGA Tour. The PGA Tour is one of the most popular offerings on BetMGM, with Tour events consistently ranking at the top of all professional sports wagers, the release said.

As a PGA Tour official betting partner, BetMGM can use tour marks and advertise within PGA media and partner platforms. It also has content and video rights allowing BetMGM platforms to create pre-game and post-game betting programming.

“The PGA Tour has been a great partner for BetMGM,” Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s chief marketing officer, said in the news release. “Being the first sports betting platform to integrate betting odds into a live PGA TOUR telecast speaks to the innovative nature of our partnership. We look forward to continuing to move the needle and work closely with the TOUR to produce great content.”

The PGA Tour also has partnerships deals with DraftKings, FanDuel and PointsBet.

Multiple BetMGM Betting Options

The BetMGM platform has multiple betting formats, from moneyline betting to point spread betting, parlays and futures.

BetMGM is currently licensed for sports betting in seven states: Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, Nevada and West Virginia. The company says it plans to add four more states by the end of this year.

PGA Tour Live, the tour’s streaming platform, integrated live betting odds during the opening two rounds of the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Aug. 13-14.
