Rush Street Latest Arizona Sports Betting Operator To Launch

Rush Street Interactive/BetRivers became the ninth operator to launch Arizona sports betting operations Friday.

The BetRivers Sportsbook Arizona site officially went live at noon Friday Arizona time, the public relations firm that represents Rush Street Interactive confirmed in a Friday afternoon email: "Yes live!" BetRivers is partnered with the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League.

The Arizona Department of Gaming told Bookies.com BetRivers had been "approved today (Friday) for operations."

The company didn’t release any other information about the launch. The BetRivers site featured a $250 bonus match on a first deposit as its kickoff promotion.

RSI Joins Competitive Market

Rush Street Interactive joins a growing list of sportsbooks that have already launched -- BetMGM Arizona, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook Arizona, FanDuel Sportsbook Arizona, Penn National Interactive/Barstool Sportsbook, TwinSpires Sportsbook Arizona, Unibet Arizona and WynnBET Arizona.

TwinSpires Sportsbook was the last operator to launch, entering the Arizona sports betting marketplace on Sept. 15.

The other seven launched on Arizona’s opening day for legal sports betting, Sept. 9, in time for the opening kickoff of the 2021 NFL regular season.

Arizona Sports Betting Market Performing Well So Far

Rush Street Interactive joins an Arizona sports betting marketplace that has performed as well as any other state in the country during its opening month of operation.

The Grand Canyon State ranked fourth out of 18 states and the District of Columbia in NFL betting transactions during September, per geolocation firm GeoComply, at 36.9 million.

Arizona ranked behind New Jersey (70.5 million), Pennsylvania (64.6 million) and Michigan (44.3 million) in terms of transactions.

The state also ranked fourth overall in NFL betting transactions when measured by volume, at 11.2%, trailing the same three states.

Arizona’s sports betting surge has been fueled in large part by the 6-0 start of the Arizona Cardinals, who are off to their best opening stretch since 1974.

The Cardinals currently have the third-best Super Bowl odds at BetMGM (+450), while FanDuel Sportsbook (+1000), DraftKings Sportsbook (+1100) and Caesars Sportsbook (+1100) all have Arizona among their top title contenders.

Who’s Next to Launch in Arizona?

The launch of RSI means nine of the 18 licensees in Arizona have begun operations in the state.

Fubo Gaming (partnered with the Ak-Chin Indian Community), Bally’s (partnered with the Phoenix Mercury), Betfred (partnered with Ft. McDowell Yavapai Nation), Digital Gaming (partnered with San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe), Golden Nugget (partnered with Hualapai Tribe) and SuperBook Sports (partnered with Fort Mohave Indian Tribe) have yet to launch.

Of that group, Fubo Gaming is likely to be the next operator to begin operations in the state, with representatives from the company saying the operator plans on launching in Arizona during the fourth quarter of this year.
