Super Bowl Bets: Seahawks Fans vs Patriots Fans

Patriots - Seahawks Super Bowl Betting Fans

The outcome of Super Bowl 60 between the Patriots and Seahawks won’t be determined until Sunday, starting at 6:30 p.m. (ET) on NBC. However, it’s clear the Patriots will score a decisive victory over the vaunted "12s" when it comes to betting on the game. The Patriots fanbase projects to wager nearly 10 times the amount of their Seahawks counterparts.

The projected Super Bowl betting handle from the 6 New England States (Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine) for The Big Game comes in at $128,289,329.16.

Meanwhile, the projected Super Bowl betting handle from those states and provinces in Seahawks Country: Washington, Oregon, Montana and British Columbia stands at $13,196,121.36.

Patriots fans can only hope their team scores a similar lopsided victory.

All six New England states allow online sports betting. Meanwhile, sports betting in Washington remains limited to land-based casinos. Those legally wagering online in Oregon and British Columbia remains limited to one in each jurisdiction run through its lottery. Online betting is allowed in Montana - on the Eastern Fringe of Seahawks Nation.

How We Came Up With The Numbers

Our numbers come from a state-by-state analysis of American Gaming Association’s Super Bowl betting handle estimate of $1.76 billion nationwide. This year, Missouri joined the roster of United States jurisdictions that allow sports betting.

Here, we limited the Patriots fanbase to the 6 New England states., with an added caveat from Connecticut.

The Patriots had a deal to relocate to Hartford in 1998-99. But the site of the proposed stadium failed to meet the perimeters of the agreement. Meanwhile, the NFL and Commonwealth of Massachusetts came to their collective senses. The move was scuttled. However, not all Nutmeggers are Patriots fans. The New York Giants remain the vast majority team of choice in Fairfield County. The Giants once played at Yale Bowl. And that market sees Giants (and Jets) games from New York TV affiliates.

We’ve adjusted our Connecticut estimate proportionally to exclude Fairfield County, which represents roughly 26% of the state's population.

State-By-State Patriots/Seahawks Fan Betting Handle

The figures come from the AGA's state-by-state projected Super Bowl betting handles, except the following: the British Columbia figure is based on adjusted figures from the British Columbia Lottery Commission from previous years and converted to U.S. dollars; the Washington figure comes adjusted from a similar state-by-state analysis shared by the Sports Betting Alliance this month.

Patriots’ Success Helps Bay State Boost Handle 15% In 2025

The Bay State offers the biggest betting basket of any state here. The success of the Patriots this season – from 4-13 to 14-3 – provided rocket fuel for betting handles in the Commonwealth. From September-December of 2024, Massachusetts’ legal sports betting sites posted a combined handle of $2.992 billion. This year, during those same months, the Bay State’s legal sports betting handle spiked to $3.452 billion. That marks a 15.36% increase.

The Seahawks boast radio network outlets in Idaho, Alaska, and Hawaii. But none of those jurisdictions offer legalized sports betting. Thus, our numbers are limited to Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia, as noted above.

British Columbia’s lone sports book generated $30,786,000 in tax revenue for the province from sports betting in the year ending March 31, 2025. Last year, more than $2.4 million (Canadian) was wagered on the Super Bowl via PlayNow.com, the province's lone legal betting site. Our figures are adjusted upward this year and converted to U.S. dollars.

“85% of bets rather are on the Seahawks to win the big game here in BC. No surprise, there’s a lot of Seahawks fans right here in the province.” B.C. Lottery Corporation Communications Director Matt Lee told Victory Radio this week.

Seahawks Remain Favored Over Patriots

The NFC Champion Seahawks remain 4.5 points favorites over New England. The game total stands at 45.5 points across most legal sports betting sites. Thus far, the overall numbers on the game have not significantly budged since the spread opened at Seattle -3.5 and quickly moved to 4.5.

“There’s been a knock of the Patriots that their passing offense in the playoffs hasn't been as electric as it was in the regular season. Their defense has stepped up, big time, Seattle's had a pretty impressive showing between the decimation of the 49ers that great matchup at home against the Rams. They have looked like the best team in football,” said Fanatics Sports Trader Ethan Useloff told Bookies.com. “This Seattle team, between their defense complimenting their offense, and their offensive line play has been really great. And in the Super Bowl, I do think four and a half points, there's a chance it potentially comes a little bit inside of that. But overall, this is about where bookmakers expected this line to be.”

In Downtown Las Vegas, the Circa booked a $1.1 million bet on the Patriots moneyline at +188 last week. A Patriots would be worth $2.1 million to that ticketholder. This bet moved the moneyline to +180 at Circa Sports, with the Seattle moneyline moving to -210 in correlation.

Circa VP Of Gaming Mike Palm told Bookies.com that its line briefly moved from 4.5 to 5.5 due to early money on the Seahawks. Buyback on New England pushed it back to 4.5 points. Although Palm expects 90% of his shop’s on-site handle in Las Vegas not to come until the weekend, he expects the line to remain static “unless we take a big breath from someone we respect on the Seahawks. We're not really close to going to 5 yet.”
