We have a new favorite in the race for the 2019 NFL Most Valuable Player Award. If you’ve paid attention lately, you likely know who it is.

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is the new leader on the board, supplanting Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, with odds of +170 at DraftKings.

The buzz around Jackson has been palpable the last two months, but the last two weeks have been otherworldly after he surged into second choice after beating the Patriots in Week 9. In victories over the Bengals and Texans, the second-year signal-caller is a combined 32-of-41 for 445 yards, seven TDs and no INTs. He’s also rushed 16 times for 151 yards and a TD.

Massive Momentum for Jackson

Jackson began the season at +6600, the 18th-ranked player on the board. Now he’s the odds-on favorite as he’s paced the Ravens to an 8-2 record. The Ravens have been crushing the spread lately, too.

At DraftKings where he’s a +170 favorite, a whopping 54% of the handle at on Jackson has come in the last two weeks. Since Sunday, 90% of money coming in on the future bet has been on Jackson, according to the sportbook.

At William Hill, Jackson’s odds are even lower, at +125.

On the season, Jackson has thrown for 2,258 yards – which ranks only 19th in the NFL. But he has 19 TDs (tied for fourth) to just five INTs and his QB rating of 106.3 ranks fourth.

What separates Jackson is his legs. Jackson’s 788 rushing yards ranks 10th in the NFL on 6.9 yards per attempt.

Wilson Remains Close in NFL MVP Odds

Jackson supplants Wilson, who was on his bye week. Wilson has thrown for 2,737 yards with 23 TDs and two TDs and a league-leading 114.9 QB rating. He still ranks a close second at DraftKings +200. At FanDuel, Jackson and Wilson are each at +150.

At DraftKings, QBs Aaron Rodgers and Deshaun Watson are each at +900, with Patrick Mahomes (+1200), Dak Prescott (+1400) and RB Christian McCaffrey (+2000) following. The highest-ranked WR on the list is the Saints’ Michael Thomas (+8000). Aaron Donald and Khalil Mack are the top defensive standouts (+25000).
