New England Patriots NFL Draft Odds: Offensive Line Or Receiver?

The Mac Jones era for the New England Patriots started off with a lot of promise, as the team went 10-7 in 2021 and earned a surprise berth in the AFC Playoffs. Last year, however, was stagnation in comparison, with an 8-9 finish.
As the AFC East division continues to get stronger, with the powerhouse Bills, aggressive Dolphins and improving Jets, the Patriots must have a strong offseason. That includes nailing the 2023 NFL Draft, especially with their No. 14 overall pick. And for the first time next season, the launch of Massachusetts sports betting means Pats fans will be able to legally wager on their team in the state.
Bookies.com oddsmaker Adam Thompson has used his resources of NFL contacts developed over 20 years covering the league and the NFL Draft to create his hypothetical NFL futures odds on who gets selected No. 14 overall by the New England Patriots in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Who Will the New England Patriots Take In 2023 NFL Draft?
There isn’t much debate in NFL circles as to what the Pats need to do to become a better team. While the defense ranked No. 8 in the NFL, the offense was just 26th. They ranked bottom-10 in both passing and rushing, 19th in yards per rush and in sacks allowed, and 23rd in yards per completion.
For New England, it starts in the trenches. Offensive tackles Trent Brown and Conor McDermott each ranked outside the Top 40 by Pro Football Focus. The process of fixing the offense starts at tackle.
No offensive tackle is expected to go in the Top 10 this draft season. While the Tennessee Titans are widely expected to target a tackle at No. 11, the Patriots could be in position to take one of the top three OTs in the draft at No. 14.
Broderick Jones Odds to Join the New England Patriots
New England is available around +6000 to win Super Bowl 58 on NFL betting markets.
But before you lay your money down on Massachusetts betting apps, this team has some work still to do to become a true contender.
Offensive tackle is the chief concern, but No. 14 is a good spot to fill the void. Northwestern’s Peter Skoronski is considered the most-steady of the four and the one most likely to be first off the board. While the Patriots would likely take Skoronski at No. 14, it’s more likely he won’t be there.
Broderick Jones of Georgia and Darnell Wright of Tennessee are both strong, aggressive tackles. Jones gets the nod because of a perceived advanced technique.
Ohio State’s Paris Johnson has the size and quickness that coach Bill Belichick has preferred at the position. There’s more potential in Johnson, but it may take longer to realize it than some of the other top OT prospects.
If the Pats don’t fall in love with any of the OTs, receiver is the other big spot of need. Jaxon Smith-Njigba of Ohio State and Jordan Addison of USC are the top two in the draft on many team boards, and there’s a chance one or both of them will be available at No. 14.
