Four different sportsbooks began taking mobile sports bets in New York starting Saturday, just in time for the final weekend of the NFL betting season.

How should New York sports betting fans and those elsewhere in the United States wager when it comes to the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets and New York Giants in Week 18 of the NFL season?

First, let’s check the matchups. The 10-6 Bills can clinch their second-straight AFC East title with a home win over 4-12 Gang Green late Sunday afternoon. The Jets are playing for nothing beyond pride and draft position. The Giants (4-12) visit the 6-10 Washington Football Team Sunday in a game that begins at 1 p.m ET. The Giants and Jets have long since been eliminated from the postseason.

The New York State Gaming Commission announced Thursday that Caesars Sportsbook New York, FanDuel New York, DraftKings New York and BetRivers had “satisfied all statutory and regulatory requirements necessary to accept and process mobile sports wagering activity and have been approved to commence operations.”

Betting began at 9:01 a.m. ET Saturday. A total of nine operators have been approved to accept mobile wagering in New York. The other five – BetMGM, Bally, PointsBet, Resorts World and WynnBET – have not satisfied the “statutory and regulatory requirements necessary to launch,” the commission added.

Washington and the Giants have lost nine straight games combined. The calls for Big Blue to terminate coach Joe Judge have elevated into a symphonic roar in recent days.
