The NFL has officially released its 2022 schedule and that means we can start looking ahead to the season and making some NFL futures bets.

We will be searching online sports betting sites for value on some win totals after examining the schedule. There are a few teams that could start hot with some relatively easy schedules, but there are also some teams that could struggle out of the gate.

Here are some teams to bet on or fade during the 2022 season using the season total odds from DraftKings Sportsbook:

Patriots Under 8.5 Wins

Odds at -105 at DraftKings

The Patriots will start the season on the road in back-to-back games, playing the Dolphins and the Steelers. New England has historically struggled in Miami during September and this is a game they are now projected to lose as the Dolphins are 3-point favorites according to NFL odds. Then, in Week 3, they'll host the Ravens before traveling to Green Bay to take on the Packers.

There is a real chance that the Patriots could be 1-3 or even 0-4 in the first month of the season and that's terrifying considering the back-end of their schedule has games against the Bills (twice), Bengals, Colts, and Raiders. It will be awfully tough for the Patriots to have a winning record again next season.

Saints Over 8

Odds at -110 at DraftKings

One team with a lovely opening season schedule is the New Orleans Saints. First, they'll start on the road in Atlanta, where they are currently a -3.5 point favorite at betting apps. Then, they'll host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who they've beaten seven-straight times in the regular season. Then, after the back-to-back NFC South games, their schedule really opens up.

They’ll play three-straight games against non-playoff teams from 2021 (Panthers, Vikings, Seahawks) and their end-of-season schedule is nice with games against the Falcons, Browns, Eagles and Panthers. As long as they can survive the middle part of their schedule (Bengals, Cardinals, Raiders, Ravens, Steelers, Rams, 49ers), they should win close to double-digit games this season. Look for New Orleans to get off to a fast start and possibly open up the season at 4-1 or maybe even 5-0.

Chiefs Under 10.5

Odds at -105 at DraftKings

The schedule couldn't be any tougher for the Chiefs to begin the season. They'll start the season by playing eight-straight games against teams with winning records from last season. That includes games against the Chargers, Buccaneers, Bills, 49ers and Titans. After the stretch, they'll play the Chargers, Rams, Bengals, and Broncos in four consecutive weeks, with three of those games being on the road.

The Chiefs will still be a good team this year, but expecting them to win 12 to 13 games like we are used to seeing is going to be difficult. So don't be surprised at all if they come out of the first two months of a season with a record of 5-3 or 4-4. So for that reason alone, take the under on their win total in 2022 as your NFL pick

Titans Over 9

Odds at -110 at DraftKings

Under Mike Vrabel, the Titans have won at least nine games in all four years he’s been the team’s head coach. And last year, they were the No. 1 seed in the AFC despite missing All-Pro running back Derrick Henry for most of the season. So can they win more than nine games again this year?

The good news for them is the schedule is pretty easy at the beginning and at the end of the season. They'll start the season off by hosting the Giants, which should be a win. Then, they'll have three tough AFC games (Bills, Raiders, Colts) following Week 1. But the end of the schedule is where they should rattle off wins.

Their last five games of the season include the Jaguars (home), Chargers (away), Texans (home), Cowboys (home) and Jaguars (away). It would be a shock if they didn't go at least 3-2 during that stretch and 5-0 isn't out of the question.

For you to win or push this bet, the Titans need to get to nine wins. And considering Vrabel’s track record and the pretty soft schedule for Tennessee, that seems like just about a lock.
