Playoff contenders seemingly headed in opposite directions face off in a critical Week 15 Thursday Night Football showdown, as Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks host Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers. 

Smith and the Seahawks (7-6) have lost three of four and are just outside the NFC Playoff picture heading into the week, behind the Commanders and Giants, who are each 7-5-1. The 49ers (9-4), meanwhile, have rattled off six straight wins and own a two-game lead in the NFC West with four games remaining. Purdy, the final pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, has guided the Niners to wins over the Dolphins and Buccaneers the last two weeks.

The latest 49ers vs. Seahawks odds on NFL betting sites have the road team favored by 3.5 points. The Over/Under is set at 43.5 points.

Seattle is on an 0-4 ATS run on betting apps, San Francisco on a 4-0 run. Brock Purdy isn’t going to sneak up on the Seahawks after putting up 33 points vs. the Dolphins and 35 vs. the Buccaneers in dominating wins. No Deebo Samuel – who tied for the team lead in targets in both games – isn’t going to help the rookie. But Seattle could be without two of its top playmakers on defense. 

Meanwhile, we’re all-in on the Niners defense, the best in the NFL in both yards and points allowed. Seattle managed only 216 total yards in the first meeting and may not have a fully healthy Kenneth Walker III to take pressure off Geno. Christian McCaffrey and Co. can carry Brock. 49ers vs. Seahawks Over/Under Best Bet

The Over has hit in seven of the past 10 Seahawks games on betting sites, and during that run games are averaging a whopping 55.9 ppg. That said, the Seahawks put up just seven points on the Niners defense earlier this year. 

No Samuel for San Francisco takes a bite out of an offense that’s put up 33-plus points in three of the last four weeks. The defense, however, hasn’t given up more than 17 points during the six-game winning streak (10.7 ppg). Seattle’s defense is nearly six points better at home this season. This number (43.5 points) is pretty close to where it should be, but we lean Under. 

49ers vs. Seahawks Moneyline Pick

San Francisco’s loss of Jimmy Garoppolo and now Deebo doesn't help matters, but Purdy has been steady in his two games of action. Seattle has lost two straight at home, to the Raiders and Panthers. The Niners present a new level. 

We like the 49ers to win, the question is if the moneyline odds of -190 are a little steep (the Seahawks are posted at +160). There’s a lot to like about the Niners here, but the rookie QB without his security blanket keep us from laying a straight-up win against that big of a number.

Christian McCaffrey, Under 79.5 Rushing Yards

Odds: -115 at DraftKings

McCaffrey rolled the Buccaneers for 119 yards on just 14 carries last week. Prior to that, though, he’d gone over this total just once for the 49ers and finished under 40 yards four times in six games. Seattle’s run defense is pretty bad, but expect a full-on focus on slowing down McCaffrey and forcing Purdy to try and beat them with his arm.
