It’s been another year of massive progress for wagering legislation, with sports betting in Kansas and Ohio sports betting now operational to place legal bets on Super Bowl 57 for Eagles vs. Chiefs in Glendale, Arizona.

Elsewhere, Maryland sports betting is also underway and in-state bettors can get legal action on the Super Bowl. And online Massachusetts sportsbooks will soon go live ahead of March Madness, with more states set to launch in the following year (retail sportsbooks are already live in Massachusetts).

Arizona sports betting has also been up and running since 2021, and there’s even a BetMGM Sportsbook on-site at State Farm Stadium that will be open to Super Bowl ticket holders on gameday. That’s not to mention all the sports betting apps available throughout the state of Arizona ahead of the big game, which features an endless buffet of point spread, total, player and game prop bets and exotics.

More than 30 states (33 to be exact, plus Washington, D.C.) now offer legal online sports gambling after the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2018 decision to strike down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act gave them the power to do so. And the implications don’t get any bigger than legally betting on Super Bowl Sunday.

Where Can I Bet Super Bowl 57 Online?

You can bet on the Super Bowl if you are physically present in a state that permits legal sports betting and you sign up to a legal sportsbook app. Legal, online NFL betting on mobile apps is currently available in the following states:

  • Arkansas
  • Arizona
  • Colorado
  • Connecticut
  • Iowa
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Kansas
  • Louisiana
  • Maryland
  • Michigan
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • Nevada
  • New York
  • Ohio
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • Tennessee*
  • Virginia
  • West Virginia
  • Wyoming
  • Washington DC

*mobile only

Four states have launched full online sports betting since the Rams beat the Bengals a year ago in Super Bowl 56. Arkansas online sports betting launched March 7, while Kansas followed in early September. Maryland betting apps launched in late November and Ohio betting apps went live on New Year’s Day, 2023.

Next up will be Massachusetts betting apps by March, after the Bay State launched retail sports betting on Jan. 31. Bettors overwhelmingly prefer mobile apps for a number of factors, including convenience. And many states will certainly follow in the coming years.

Where Can I Bet Super Bowl Props?

The prop market truly doesn’t get any better than this, with an unfathomable number of player and game bets and exotics available on mobile sportsbook apps.

This is a trend that has grown since the mid-1980s, when Caesars Sportsbook reportedly posted the first truly exotic wager ahead of the Chicago Bears vs. New England Patriots in Super Bowl 20 – massive Bears lineman William “The Refrigerator” Perry to score a touchdown with opening odds of 20-1.

The line was quickly bet down leading up to the game, and Caesars lost a quarter of a million dollars when Perry rumbled into the end zone on a one-yard carry. Bottom line aside, the buzz and popularity that wager attracted helped sportsbooks realize they were on to something.

Now, oddsmakers at top sportsbooks can hang a number on just about anything even remotely related to the game – over/under length of time for the National Anthem, color of Gatorade dumped on the winning coach, and even whether the opening coin toss will land heads or tails.

Every legal online sportsbook app in America will have a wide offering of props and exotics available for Super Bowl 57, as well as all the standard spread, total and moneyline odds.

Some of the best sportsbook apps for Super Bowl prop betting include:

  • BetMGM
  • Caesars Sportsbook
  • DraftKings
  • FanDuel
  • PointsBet
  • BetRivers
  • WynnBET

Not all of these mobile apps will be available in your state, so make sure you check first before signing up. Many of them also deliver welcome bonuses and promos for new customers, boosting your bankroll. Some of the biggest bonuses for new customers are available in the week before the Super Bowl, as betting apps compete to win your business.

For example, Caesars Sportsbook is running a promotion right now where you qualify for the chance to win a $57,000 bet credit simply by placing a single $5 wager on the Super Bowl.

Other mobile sportsbook apps like the BetMGM app are giving away a $100 gift card to the Chiefs team store if you bet $100 on the game.

It really pays to shop around and look for the best deals before signing up, especially if you are planning to wager as a new customer on the BetMGM app.

You should only place wagers at licensed sportsbooks, such as the ones we recommend at Bookies.com. Check out our reviews and guides to find the top legal online sportsbooks where you live.

How To Bet Super Bowl 57 At Retail Sportsbooks

While the majority of legal Super Bowl 57 betting will be placed on mobile apps, some people still can’t get enough of the atmosphere at in-person sportsbooks. There’s something about placing real American dollars on the counter and receiving a physical, paper bet slip in return.

Four states that launched in the last year already have legal online options, while Massachusetts will soon join. As of now, betting in-person at a retail sportsbook is the only option for the following states:

  • Delaware
  • Massachusetts
  • Mississippi
  • Montana
  • New Mexico
  • North Carolina
  • North Dakota
  • South Dakota
  • Washington
  • Wisconsin
