The Kansas City Chiefs winning Super Bowl 57 wasn’t the biggest surprise in NFL history. They were +750 co-favorites on betting apps at this time last year and were Top 3 on the board for most of the 2022 NFL regular season.
Often, the best NFL betting odds can be found right now, before free agency, before the NFL Draft. For those looking for real value, the time is now to find it on the NFL futures market.
Bookies.com handicapper Adam Thompson just concluded a fourth-consecutive year of hitting over 60% of his NFL picks. He reveals three futures to consider for Super Bowl 58 betting right now.
Best Super Bowl 58 Picks To Bet Today
Top favorite: Cincinnati Bengals
Odds: +850 at BetMGM Sportsbook ➜
The last seven years, the Super Bowl champion has ranked in the top six in scoring. This season, the Chiefs and Eagles tied for first place. Offense wins championships these days.
The Bengals finished seventh in the NFL this season in points and were on their way to a consecutive Super Bowl berth before getting shocked in overtime by Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

Expect a motivated Joe Burrow, with all of his top weapons back. The defense ranked fifth in points allowed and was top 10 vs. the run.
Its pass defense was inconsistent, but what separates Cincy from other contenders is the flexibility to do something about it.
The Bengals are projected to have nearly $36 million in cap space, sixth-most in the NFL and above every other playoff team except the Giants (but much of their funds will likely go to Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley).
Close Second: San Francisco 49ers
Odds: +900 at BetMGM Sportsbook ➜
As far as the 49ers go, only two teams ranked in the top 10 in points and yards offensively, and points and yards allowed defensively. One was the Philadelphia Eagles, and the other was the 49ers.
So what gives the edge to the team by the Bay? We have a better idea of what the Niners will be in 2023. They return nearly everyone of major consequence, with safety Jimmie Ward the lone exception. The Eagles have far more question marks heading into the offseason.
The top question is who will play QB – and it’s a big question. Brock Purdy won eight in a row before the NFC Championship defeat to the Eagles. Trey Lance opened the season as starter before an injury ended his year in Week 2. Which QB will coach Kyle Shanahan go with, and will it be the right decision? Aside from QB, the 49ers check all the boxes for a top contender at the moment.
Best Value: Miami Dolphins
Odds: +3000 at BetMGM Sportsbook ➜
With Tua Tagovailoa at QB, the Dolphins got off to an 8-3 start and were poised to join the Chiefs, Bills and Bengals as legitimate challengers in the AFC.
But Tua suffered a pair of concussions that cost him four-plus regular-season games, the Dolphins struggled big-time without him, averaging 27.0 ppg with a healthy Tua (a number that would have ranked No. 4 in the NFL over an entire season) and just 16.7 ppg without him.
If Tua can stay healthy, Miami has the offense to be one of those high-scoring contenders. If the Dolphins trade for Aaron Rodgers, Miami’s odds are cut in half. A defense that floundered vs. the pass must be upgraded in the secondary. If that happens and Miami gets stability at QB, this will be a team that can compete.
Leading Dark Horse: Detroit Lions
Odds: +2500 at BetMGM Sportsbook ➜
In Dan Campbell’s first season as head coach in Detroit, the Lions went 3-13-1 and people were already calling for his ouster. But Year 2 showed that patience can pay off. The team went 9-8 and was in the playoff hunt until Week 17.
Jared Goff and a young offense finished fifth in scoring and fourth in yards gained. Meanwhile, Campbell can continue to add his tough-nosed mentality to a defense that ranked dead-last in yards allowed, 25th in scoring.
Detroit has the tenth-most salary cap space and is in a winnable NFC North, assuming the Vikings don’t win every one-possession game in 2023 and the Packers trade Aaron Rodgers. The Lions were far more potent at home, so a Ford Field playoff game would go a long way. It’s a huge offseason for the Lions.
