Casino Del Sol, a Pascua Yaqui Tribe casino in Tucson, is partnering with Scientific Games to offer its OpenSports wagering platform for Arizona sports betting.

The tribal casino’s first sportsbook, SolSports, and Scientific Games will have sports wagering at a retail sportsbook at Casino Del Sol, in addition to self-service kiosks throughout the casino and at Casino of the Sun, a sister property also in Tucson, according to a news release.

Arizona is expected to launch daily fantasy sports on Aug. 28 and sports betting on Sept. 9, in time for NFL betting when the season begins. Sportsbooks are allowed to market and sign up bettors on Aug. 28 to kick off a pre-registration period.

FanDuel Sportsbook has received an Arizona sports betting license and other operators with sports betting apps are sure to follow this week.

More About OpenSports

The two Pascua Yaqui Tribe casinos will permit bettors to wager on a variety of sports betting markets offered by OpenSports, the release said.

“Casino Del Sol and Casino of the Sun have both worked tirelessly to become leading casinos in Arizona and we are sure this new partnership can go from strength to strength in the newly regulated state,” Cathryn Lai, senior vice president and general manager of U.S. and digital at Scientific Games, said in the release. “We believe Arizona’s sports betting market will grow rapidly in size and we look forward to providing customers with a first-class offering.”

The partnership represents another tribal customer for Scientific Games in North America, and the gaming company’s first in Arizona. The state legalized sports betting in April.

“In launching our first sportsbook, we partnered with Scientific Games due to their technical expertise,” Kimberly Van Amburg, chief executive officer of Casino Del Sol, said in the release. “The OpenSports solution is a robust and scalable platform that can withstand all the pressures associated with major sporting events, while providing customers with an extensive range of markets.”

Scientific Games, based in Las Vegas, is traded on Nasdaq (SGMS). It offers games, systems and services for casino, lottery, social gaming, online gaming and sports betting, the release said.
