The Week 9 NFL betting schedule regrettably peaks at 9:30 a.m. Eastern time on Sunday when the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins meet in Germany.

Thankfully for the NFL, you’ll have an extra hour of sleep to prepare. Or maybe you’ll be awake 60 minutes earlier than normal thanks to the start of daylight savings time 7 ½ hours earlier.

On Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2 a.m. local time, the clocks fall back an hour. You’ll get that extra hour of sleep that you lost during the spring. Or, you’ll have an hour to get all your Sunday morning chores done. But you lose the excuse that you “overslept” for missing church.

Depending on their time zone, the faithful will have to DVR the start or finish of the Miami Dolphins-Kansas City Chiefs clash at Frankfurt Stadium, in Frankfurt, Germany.

This game could well serve as an AFC Championship Game preview. The winner will see a significant Super Bowl 58 odds boost.

Both teams are 6-2. The ailing Chiefs suffered their worst upset in a year by losing to the home-town Broncos. The line on that game moved from -9.5 to -7 as news of Patrick Mahomes' illness became evident. It wasn't enough. The Broncos won 24-9 and serenaded their fans with Taylor Swift after the win. The Dolphins hold the edge in the AFC East after crushing New England.

The FOX national game at 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday is no slouch. The Eagles and Cowboys meet for the first time this season with the winner having the edge in the NFC East.

2023 NFL Week 9 Best Bets To Back Today

Thursday, November 2
Tennessee Titans at Pittsburgh Steelers, 8:15 p.m. (Prime Video)

Will Levis could well start at QB after his stellar performance Sunday over the Colts. The Titans say they aren't moving Derrick Henry, but a deal must be considered a possibility with wagering this far out. The under was tempting, but the Titans can suddenly score. And with the possibly of Minkah Fitzpatrick being out or less than 100% is a major blow to the Steelers defense.

Best Bet: Titans +2.5 (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Sunday, November 5

Miami Dolphins at Kansas City Chiefs, 9:30 a.m. (NFL)

The premier matchup of the season in the AFC pits the offensive powerhouse led by Mike McDaniel and Tua Tagovailoa against the Gold Standard of Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. Tyreek Hill faces his former Kansas City teammates for the first time. Thankfully, the switch back to daylight savings time some 7 ½ hours earlier on the East Coast will get more eyeballs watching this one. The books are going to take a hit just because of the early U.S. time kickoff.

The Chiefs opened at -5.5 in the preseason. It's now down to KC -2.5 after the Swifies got upended 24-9 at Denver. A Miami win would shake up the race for homefield throughout the AFC playoffs and that coveted first-round bye. A Chiefs' win will further cement their hold on the inside track to repeat as Super Bowl champions. The Dolphins need a breakthrough moment if they're going to be a Super Bowl contender. This could be it.

Best Bet: Dolphins +2.5 (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Minnesota Vikings at Atlanta Falcons, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Minnesota has won three straight but lost Kirk Cousins likely for the season in Week 8. They could well add a new QB at the deadline (Mac Jones, perhaps?). The Falcons had enough with Desmond Ridder and yanked him in their Week 8 loss to the Titans. It appears Taylor Heinicke is going to be Atlanta's QB for the time being. That should be enough against a depleted Vikings team on the road. This line moved 3.5 points following news of Cousins' injury. But it should still be safe for Atlanta.

Best Bet: Falcons -4.5 (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Arizona Cardinals at Cleveland Browns, 1 p.m. (CBS)

The Browns quarterback situation remains in flux, as it has been for the past several seasons. Through Week 8, the team had used three different QBs. Is Vinnie Testaverde available? The Browns won two straight before Week 8 and had the lead at Seattle entering the final minute of their 24-20 loss. The Cardinals cannot afford any mistakes by the lake. This is a too big line for a team like Cleveland, especially with pick-prone QBs on both sides of the ball.

Los Angeles Rams at Green Bay Packers, 1 p.m. (FOX)

This line has flipped since last week. The Rams were -1.5 until Matthew Stafford's injury in Week 8. Now, the Packers are 2-point favorites at home. Brett Rypien was terrible against Dallas replacing Stafford.

Keep an eye on this line as Stafford's injury status becomes clearer. The Packers have lost four straight around their bye. Neither Jordan Love nor Matt LaFleur can figure out how to move the ball. The total here is the play, especially given 40 points is the new 46.5.

Best Bet: Under 40 Points (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Washington Commanders at New England Patriots, 1 p.m. (FOX)

New England is holding at -2 even after the news that Kendrick Bourne is out for the season. This is one of just four games in which New England was favored before the season. The Patriots (2-6) are the worst team in the AFC in terms of the playoff picture.

Both teams could unload some big names - including New England QB Mac Jones and Washington DE Chase Young - at the deadline. Commanders Sam Howell threw for 397 yards and 4 TDs against the Eagles in a 38-31 Week 8 loss. The Patriots' defense isn't what it used to be, or what it was supposed to be this season.

Best Bet: Commanders ML (+100) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Chicago Bears at New Orleans Saints, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Derek Carr should enough in the tank to outpace Chicago. The Saints put up an 11-point win over the Colts and Carr drove for 310 yards passing and 2 TDs. Alvin Kamara gained 110 total yards and found the end zone twice. The Saints should dominate at home, or at least win by a touchdown.

Best Bet: Saints -6.5 (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Seattle Seahawks at Baltimore Ravens, Sunday, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Super Bowl preview? Perhaps. The Seahawks are making five separate trips to the Eastern Time Zone this season. They are 2-1 thus far. They pick up an hour this week thanks to the return of Daylight Savings Time.

Seattle sits in first place in the NFC West at 5-2 following their late comeback win over Cleveland and the Niners' third straight loss in Week 8. The 6-2 Ravens won at Arizona in Week 8 but whiffed on the 10-point cover in a 31-24 victory. Expect a close, low-scoring game that goes down to the foot of Justin Tucker.

Best Bet: Seahawks +5.5 (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Houston Texans, Sunday, 1 p.m. (CBS)

The Texans caught a few teams by surprise to start the season. But Tampa Bay’s defense should be ready for Houston rookie QB C.J. Stroud. But can Baker Mayfield limit mistakes and move the ball? Can we get Mike Evans some “Stickum”? Or will be he dealt at the deadline? The Bucs play well against equal or lesser competition.

The Texans are too inconsistent and appear to be backsliding after a surprisingly solid start. Look for the Bucs to bounce back and stay in the mix for first place in the woeful NFC South on the road.

Best Bet: Buccaneers +2.5 (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Indianapolis Colts at Carolina Panthers, 4:05 p.m. (CBS)

This line has flipped since it opened in the preseason. The Panthers were -2.5. Now they are +2.5 points. Once set to be a face-off between two of the top 3 QBs taken in the 2023 NFL Draft, this game is now just another mid-season showdown between two last-place teams. Instead of rookie Anthony Richardson, the Colts offer up Garnder Minshew at quarterback. No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young got his inaugural NFL win in Week 8. These two teams are headed in different directions. Take the Cats as home dogs.

Best Bet: Panthers +2.5 (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

New York Giants at Las Vegas Raiders, 4:25 p.m. (FOX)

The Bill Belichick Coaching Tree displays two of its weaker branches this week in Sin City. Josh McDaniels leading the Raiders against Brian Daboll and the Giants. Depending on what happens with Belichick in New England, Daboll could well be out at Giants head coach should the Hoodie desire a return to Big Blue in the Big Apple. McDaniels may be seeking a new gig as an OC after this season.

At least he knows how to get to Foxboro. Meanwhile, the once-drafted-by-Belichick Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo returns for Vegas. The Giants offense is a mess. But Daniel Jones will return at QB. That may be enough for a cover against the Raiders.

Best Bet: Giants +3.5 (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles, 4:25 p.m. (FOX)

The Cowboys and Eagles meet for the first time this season in a game whose outcome may well determine the winner of the NFC East. At least until they meet again in five week. Dak and the Cowboys can expect a typical Philly welcome. Noise and flying objects aside, the Cowboys are rolling since their loss to San Francisco in early October.

The Eagles are the lone one-loss team in the NFL. The Eagles have covered in 8 of their past 9 games against the Cowboys. This is the Game of the Day for those in Las Vegas and on the West Coast who didn't get up at 6:30 a.m. to watch Tua and Mahomes sling it in Germany.

Best Bet: Eagles -3 (-110) with DraftKings

Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, 8:20 p.m. (NBC)

This line flipped from last week. The Bengals were 1.5-point underdogs before Sunday. QBs Josh Allen and Joe Burrow have underperformed against expectations this season. The Bills and Bengals could well be looking at wildcard berths to gain entry to the playoffs. This game will set the tempo for the second half of the season.

The Bengals stomped the 49ers in Week 8, winning outright as 5.5-point road dogs. The Bills are coming off an extended break and a Thursday win over Tampa Bay. Cincy's resurgent offense will deliver a win here. But Bengals struggle against the line at home, failing to cover in 4 of their past 5 games at Paycor Stadium.

Best Bet: Bengals ML (-120) with Caesars Sportsbook

Monday, November 6

Los Angeles Chargers at New York Jets, 8:15 p.m. (ABC/ESPN)

The 4-3 Jets could be alone in second place in the AFC East by the time this game kicks off on Monday night. The Chargers (3-4) are coming east into a hostile environment on the East Coast and are facing an even more hostile defense. Add some early November New Jersey chill and/or rain.

The Bolts will wish they were back on the beach by halftime. The Jets and Chargers are 9-5 combined on the under this season. These teams are averaging 31.4 points per game. And each of the Chargers' last five games have gone under the total.

Best Bet: Under 42.5 Points (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook
