Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has yet to choose a running mate for the 2024 election. But he’s making headlines for who he might select.

Legendary – and current – NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and former Minnesota governor – and “The Body” – Jesse Ventura are among the names that RFK Jr. has reportedly spoken to possibly fill the No. 2 spot on the ballot.

Bookies.com oddsmaker Adam Thompson has surveyed the landscape and created political betting odds as to who will run alongside RFK Jr. on the 2024 Presidential Ballot.

Kennedy Explores Unconventional VP Options

The New York Times reported that Kennedy had, indeed, approached Aaron Rodgers and Jesse Ventura about potentially serving as his running mate, and neither of them said “no.”

The 2024 Presidential Election odds see fluctuations with Aaron Rodgers and Jesse Ventura potentially in the mix, adding an unexpected twist to the political betting landscape.

Both personalities would offer a strong message about the independent platform – Kennedy, a former environmental lawyer, left the Democratic party after claims he was blocked into running against Biden. It would also bring considerable star power, or at least name recognition.

As far as Rodgers goes, he’s due to be playing quarterback for the Jets in the fall. That would appear to be an epic scheduling conflict. Would Rodgers end his NFL comeback to join a candidate that, while they have much of the same sentiments when it comes to lack of faith in the two-party government and media mistrust, has a minuscule chance of actually winning?

Ventura, himself an independent who won the governorship of Minnesota as a member of the Reform Party, would seemingly be much more available. Kennedy’s “conspiracy theories” also align with Ventura’s claims regarding government-mandated vaccines, and a belief that Democrats nor Republicans are good choices. “I'm not a Democrat or a Republican because I know they're not the solution," Ventura said recently.

Ventura, 72, is older than Kennedy, 70, and that may not be a pairing the independents want. Rodgers, 40, offers far more youth and is likely the preferred candidate of RFK Jr. The question is, does Rodgers want the job?

For what it’s worth, The Times they were reported that the domain name KennedyRodgers.com was registered last week with GoDaddy.com.

Kennedy is also looking at politicians for the role, and on both sides of the aisle. Other names being thrown about include former Democratic congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, and former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang of New York.

Yang and Gabbard were known for being more “centrist” than most of their polarizing Red/Blue co-workers, and each has a built-in base of supporters.

According to a Kennedy spokesperson, other candidates include motivational speaker Tony Robbins, TV host Mike Rowe (“Dirty Jobs”), and civil rights attorney Tricia Lindsay

“We wanted somebody who was aligned with my values, optimistic about our country and its potential, and able to run the country at a moment’s notice,” Kennedy told the Washington Post.

Several of the candidates in politics have reportedly turned him down or at least not accepted – for the time being. Politicians often float whichever way the wind is blowing.

Kennedy is expected to announce his VP candidate by the end of March.
