Tiger Woods is playing golf on national television Tuesday night. 

No, we’re not talking about a replay of the 2019 Masters, or 2000 U.S. Open. 

And he isn’t playing pitch-and-putt with his son, Charlie. 

Woods makes his TGL debut on ESPN as the Jupiter Links Golf Club faces off against Los Angeles Golf Club virtually and in person. 

Wagering on TGL play via legal sports betting apps is available across multiple U.S. jurisdictions, in addition to Ontario, Canada.

Woods, who is a part owner and co-founder of TGL (Tomorrow’s Golf League) with Rory McIlroy, last played competitive PGA Tour/majors golf at The Open Championship. He missed the cut. 

Woods only made one non-major start in 2024 – that was in his own Genesis Invitational. 

Woods is joined on the Jupiter Links Golf Club by Max Homa and Kevin Kisner. They face the Los Angeles Golf Club trio of Justin Rose, Sahith Theegala, and Collin Morikawa. 

The TGL began play a week ago as the Bay Golf Club trounced New York 9-2. 

All TGL play takes place at the SoFi Center, located on the campus of Palm Beach State College in Florida. The 250,000-square-foot venue offers a mix of golf simulation and play on real-grass greens.

How Is TGL Scored

Weekly TGL matches are divided into two parts. Session 1 consists of 9 holes of “Triples,” in which the 3-player teams engage in alternate shot play. Session 2 consists of 6 holes of head-to-head “Singles,” in which each competitor plays two holes.

Holes are worth 1 point, with the fewest shots winning the hole. Ties are worth 0 points. The tie-breaking format consists of head-to-head, closest-to-the-pin competition. The team wins the tiebreaker once it gets 2 consecutive shots closer to the pin than the opposition. 

Teams get 2 points for a win in the overall standings for winning their weekly match in regulation or overtime. Teams get 1 point for an overtime loss. Regulation losses are worth 0 points. 

The playoffs consist of the top-four teams in the points standings. The TGL semifinals are single elimination. The championship is set for best-of-three.
