2022 Wyndham Championship Odds, Betting Picks & Expert Predictions

A PGA Tour season unlike any other is nearing the end, with this week’s Wyndham Championship serving as the final event before the start of the FedEx Cup Playoffs next week in Memphis.

Only the top 125 players in the FedEx standings will move on to Memphis, where the field will be reduced to 70 ahead of the BMW Championship. Cards are on the line and big things are at stake, as the Tour continues to deal with the Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf Series and rumors of more big-name defectors come season’s end.

While we don’t know how different things could look a year from now, dozens of players have already made their choice and turned down lucrative offers as the 2022 season wraps up later this month with the top 30 players competing for the Tour Championship at East Lake.

That journey starts this week at Sedgefield Country Club, where careers are on the line and players are looking to round into form ahead of the postseason charge to bring another season on Tour to an end. This week, Will Zalatoris is the golf betting favorite at +1200 odds.

2022 Wyndham Championship Picks & Predictions

Adam Long, Top-10 Finish

Odds: +550 at DraftKings

Long is firmly inside the FedEx bubble at No. 76, but he has work to do in order to make it inside the top 70 that will advance to the BMW Championship. This is another great week for him to improve his chances.

The 34-year-old Duke grad has been remarkably steady lately with four consecutive top-25 finishes, including a T-13 at the John Deere Classic and T-16 in his last start at the 3M Open. He’ll be well-rested for a playoff run after skipping Detroit, and his accuracy over distance approach off the tee should serve him well around Sedgefield.

Long doesn’t have a top-10 finish yet this season, but he’s playing his best golf, is a combined 34-under-par over his last 12 rounds and we like these golf odds. He also finished fourth in Strokes Gained Approach in Minnesota, so he appears to be dialed throughout the bag.

We’re on Long top-10 finish with +550 odds at DraftKings.

2022 Wyndham Championship Betting Tips

This is one of those weeks where the shorter hitters can definitely compete – and win. We’ve seen it with past champions at Sedgefield including Kevin Kisner, Jim Herman, J.T. Poston, Brandt Snedeker, Patrick Reed, Webb Simpson, etc.

Accuracy off the tee is the name of the game this week, and it’s probably the most important metric at the Wyndham. Whereas Detroit Golf Club plays to the modern bomb and gouge game more than almost any other course on Tour, this is a completely different challenge this week.

Players can take it extremely low around here – Snedeker shot a 11-under 59 in the first round of his 2018 victory. We’re targeting players on betting apps who find the fairway with consistency and can also get hot with the flat stick, which usually leads to a winning combo at this course.
