Norwich City began the 2025/26 Championship season with realistic ambitions of pushing for promotion to the Premier League with new manager Liam Manning in tow. However, the team has endured a horror start to the season, with just two wins from their opening 14 games leaving them in the relegation zone.
With the Premier League dream almost certainly dead for another season, will the Canaries move on from someone who was a highly touted manager after taking Bristol City to the playoffs last season? Football betting sites have been pricing up the market, with former Manchester United player and Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick the early favourite.
According to most betting sites, he is followed in the market by former Norwich captain Russell Martin, who got Southampton promoted two seasons ago but is perhaps marred by a disastrous run as Rangers manager earlier this year.
There are some other big names in the market, according to the latest odds found on the best betting apps. These include former Wolves manager Gary O'Neil, ex-Liverpool, Leicester and Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers and Mark Robins, who is doing a great job with Stoke City.

Michael Carrick Could Be Of Interest
Michael Carrick is among the favourites with new betting sites to become the next Norwich City manager after enjoying relative success in his first managerial job at Middlesbrough.
The 44-year-old was lauded for the football his team played in the early part of his tenure, but he was never quite able to get his team over the hump and into the Premier League. He was let go after last season and could represent an intriguing option for a fanbase crying out for some success.
Gary O'Neil Available
It was widely believed that Gary O'Neil had done a good job with Bournemouth in his first season in charge after replacing Scott Parker, but he was unceremoniously dumped by the club. That led him to Wolves, where he impressed once more in keeping the team in the Premier League while consistently having to deal with selling his best players.
However, after a poor start to last season, he was replaced at the helm and is once again a free agent. Fast withdrawal betting sites think he could well be in with a shout of getting the job.

Russell Martin One of the Early Favourites
UK betting sites think the Norwich connection could see a return to Carrow Road for Martin, who was something of a playing legend at the club. He made over 300 appearances at the club and was captain for a stretch, too, so there's no doubt he would be a popular appointment.
He led an entertaining Southampton team up to the Premier League before they found the going too tough last season. The fact he is a free agent is also sure to appeal to the Canaries, with Apple Pay betting sites certainly thinking he'll be in the equation.
Could Ralph Hasenhuttl Return to England?
Ralph Hasenhuttl was linked with the job before Liam Manning took it in the summer, and £5 deposit betting sites think the former Southampton manager will be of interest to the club once again.
Hasenhuttl has four years of Premier League managerial experience and was most recently in charge of Wolfsburg in Germany, saving them from relegation two seasons ago before guiding them to a midtable finish last year. However, that was not enough for Wolfsburg board, and he is now on the hunt for a new job.
