The World Cup certainly didn't go as planned for Scotland, who crashed out in the group stages after defeats to Morocco and Brazil. Victory over Haiti did represent a first win in the tournament since 1990, but it wasn't enough for Steve Clarke.

Despite signing a four-year contract just weeks before the tournament began, Clarke quit after seven years in charge following Scotland's exit and now the hunt is on for his replacement.

Roberto Martinez One Of Favourites

Could David Moyes Pull Double Duty?

Now that Scotland have reached the last two European Championships and the 2026 World Cup, there may be some actual appetite for this job that wasn’t there during the barren years of not qualifying for a major tournament between 1998 and 2020.

John McGlynn in Running After Impressive Falkirk Spell

He's not a name known to many outside of Scottish football, but John McGlynn's rise through the ranks has been impressive. Promotion for Favourite Steven Naismith?

It probably reflects the lack of quality candidates for the job that Steven Naismith is so high up in the betting. His managerial career so far consists of one spell at Hearts, which ended with him being sacked when sitting bottom of the table.

Hearts only had one point in the league at the time, having lost their last eight games in all competitions.
