Premier League Title Winner Odds
Arsenal go into the new season the way every champion dreams of starting the next one, as favourites to do it all again. Mikel Arteta finally got the Gunners over the line last time out after three straight runner-up finishes, and top betting sites reckon there's more where that came from.
It's not a one horse race, though. Manchester City enter a new chapter with Enzo Maresca in the dugout after Pep Guardiola's departure, while Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United have all had a summer to reload. Pre-season odds at most betting apps always come with a health warning. Nobody's kicked a ball in anger yet, but the shape of the market gives a decent early read on how bookmakers expect the campaign to unfold.
We've broken down who's actually in the mix below. There's also a look at whether backing the favourite before a ball's kicked is as safe a bet as it sounds, plus one of the great reminders that the title market doesn't always play out the way the odds suggest.

Who's in the Premier League Title Race?
Before the season kicks off, the market's really only pointing to five sides worth taking seriously. Here's where each of them stands as things get underway.
Arsenal
Arsenal spent three seasons as Manchester City and Liverpool’s closest challenger before finally getting the job done last year, and there's no reason to think one title will satisfy this squad. Mikel Arteta has built a side around a defence that conceded fewer goals than anyone else in the league, and continuity is on their side heading into the new campaign. The Gunners start the season at home to newly promoted Coventry City, in a game most Trustly betting sites will be treating as a one-horse race before the tougher tests arrive.
Keeping that same defensive record intact while adding a bit more firepower up front would make Arsenal difficult to catch. What that firepower will be now that Vinicius Jr has decided to stay at Real Madrid remains to be seen. They've finished in the top two for four seasons running, and there's a settled feel to the squad.

Manchester City
City's four consecutive titles between 2020/21 and 2023/24 set the Premier League record, so writing them off entirely feels premature even with Pep Guardiola departed. Enzo Maresca inherits a squad still stacked with quality, and the early questions will be less about talent and more about how quickly a new voice in the dressing room can find its rhythm. It's worth keeping an eye on Erling Haaland's early season form specials, since Erling Haaland odds have him as favourite to be the top scorer this season again.
New managers at this level rarely get much of a grace period, and Maresca will be judged fast given the standard Guardiola set. History suggests City's squad is too strong to fall away completely, even through a change in style and approach.
Liverpool
Liverpool's title-winning form under Arne Slot faded badly last season, and there's real pressure on the Reds and new manager Andoni Iraola to show last year was a blip rather than the start of a decline. Replacing Mohamed Salah will be a tall task even if he seemed a fading talent at times.
A strong start to the season could be enough to push them back into proper contention at Apple Pay betting sites rather than making up the numbers behind the top two. Getting the defence back to its solid self will be key, since it was the leaky moments rather than a lack of firepower that cost them most last season.

Chelsea
Chelsea come into the season under Xabi Alonso, and the market has taken notice, shortening from 10/1 to 8/1 at most football betting sites in the past couple of weeks alone. Cole Palmer remains the creative heartbeat of the side, and the addition of Morgan Rogers gives Alonso another direct outlet going forward.
Defensive stability and the future of Enzo Fernandez both look like the areas that could decide whether this is a proper title tilt or another transitional season. No European football could well be a blessing in disguise. Chelsea are far from the finished article defensively, but there's more depth to work with here than at most clubs outside the traditional top two.
Manchester United
Manchester United have drifted slightly in the market, out to 13/2 from 6/1, as Michael Carrick settles into life as full time manager, but that still looks too short at present. United remain the most decorated club in Premier League history, and there's always a temptation to back a big name to bounce back, but this looks more like a season to stabilise than to seriously chase the title.
Carrick knows the club inside out from his playing days, which counts for something during a period of transition, but patience will be needed if the early results don't immediately match the ambition. A second consecutive top-four finish would already represent a solid season for the Red Devils.

Do Pre-Season Favourites Win the League?
Backing the bookies' favourite at live betting sites before a ball's been kicked isn't quite the mug's game some punters assume. Seven of the last 10 Premier League titles have gone to the side that started the season as favourites. That’s a hit rate that should give anyone fancying the market leader some real confidence rather than second guessing the obvious pick.
Arsenal head into 2026/27 as that favourite, after having actually delivered on the tag last season rather than falling just short of it. Whether they can make it back-to-back titles remains to be seen, but history says backing the front-runner is far from a bad habit. The bigger question is whether any of their closest rivals can find the extra gear needed to close the gap, rather than simply hoping Arsenal slip up.

Value in the Outsiders: Leicester's 5000/1 Miracle
Every so often, the Premier League throws up a result that makes the entire idea of "form" and "favourites" look faintly ridiculous. Leicester City's 2015/16 title remains the gold standard for that kind of shock, and it's worth remembering just how far outside the conversation the Foxes were before a ball was kicked. And how far they have fallen since!
Some bookmakers priced Leicester at 5000/1 to win the league that season, odds more commonly attached to a novelty bet than a serious title challenge. Claudio Ranieri's side had been battling relegation the year before, yet somehow turned into the most ruthlessly efficient team in the country, eventually finishing 10 points clear at the top. No squad on paper looked less equipped for a title charge, which is exactly what makes the story worth telling every single season.
It's the kind of result that keeps outsider markets at £5 deposit betting sites interesting each season. Nobody's expecting lightning to strike twice quite that dramatically, but it's a useful reminder that the title market isn't always as predictable as the shortest odds suggest. A smaller stake on a longer-priced outsider can still be worth a punt, particularly each way, even if the smart money stays with the favourites.

How to Bet on the Premier League Winner
Betting on the Premier League winner falls under outright, or antepost, betting, where you're backing an outcome across the whole season rather than a single match. You can place this bet before a ball's kicked or at any point during the campaign, since bookmakers keep the market open and adjust prices as results come in.
Leicester's fairytale aside, it's usually the teams already near the top of the market who go on to lift the trophy. There's real value in paying attention to how the odds shift through August and September, rather than locking in a price too early before the picture's properly clear. Beyond the outright winner market, there's also Premier League top-four odds and Premier League relegation odds if you'd rather back a different kind of season-long outcome.
It's worth bookmarking this page and checking back regularly, since prices move fast once the season gets underway. A team's odds after three games can look very different from where they started the summer, and reacting early to real form rather than a single result is usually the smarter approach.
Premier League Winner Odds FAQs
What is outright betting on the Premier League winner?
Outright betting means backing a team to win the Premier League, rather than betting on a single match. It's part of the wider antepost market, where the result isn't known until the season finishes, so your money is tied up for months rather than settled within 90 minutes.
How often do Premier League winner odds change?
Premier League winner odds shift constantly, usually after every round of fixtures, and sometimes even between matches if there's major team news. Expect the biggest movements after a run of wins or losses, a managerial change or a significant injury to a key player.
What happens to my outright bet if a team's form changes midseason?
Your bet stays exactly as it was placed, regardless of how a team's form changes afterwards. Outright odds only reflect the price at the moment you placed your bet, so a slump or a hot streak later in the season won't affect your original stake or potential winnings either way.
Can I cash out a Premier League winner bet before the season ends?
Many UK bookmakers do offer cash out on outright markets, letting you settle your bet early for a guaranteed return rather than waiting for the season to finish. Availability varies by operator and can depend on how the market's moved since you placed your bet, so it's worth checking the specific terms on your bet slip.
