Tip 1 - 3:00 Ffos Las - Boston Joe
Boston Joe has won three times here over the years, including off a mark 3lb higher than today when last winning. Coming off a break he was pulled up last time out running over hurdles, which should set him up perfectly for what he prefers best. He’s a much better jumper over the larger obstacles so we could see him add to his decent strike rate at the course.

Tip 2 - 3:45 Plumpton - La Marquise
La Marquise has struggled to match her bumper form over hurdles. Having signed off with a placed effort in the Grade 2 mares’ bumper at Aintree in 2024, she won on hurdling debut at Ludlow. She’s been mostly disappointing since but showed some spark last time out following a wind op. With her yard’s last two runners winning the Albert Bartlett and placing in the Midlands National, this could be the time to catch her.

Tip 3 - 4:00 Ffos Las - Fortunate Man
Fortunate Man has enjoyed a solid season so far with form of 135 from three runs and has proved to be comfortable over three miles throughout his career. His last two efforts were both Class 2 and not much can be deduced from his last run, the 4m1f Eider at Newcastle where he was treated for heat stress post-race. A step back down in grade along with running a mile shorter today should help significantly.

Tip 4 - 4:30 Ffos Las - Up To Trix
El Gavilan looks a real danger going for a four-timer at this track, but up 18 pounds for the three wins and carrying over 12st here, it looks like his run could be coming to an end. Up To Trix looked a much improved sort last time out, finishing a decent second on handicap debut. This is the sort of race that the Olly Murphy and Sean Bowen combination eat for breakfast, and now out of the deeper waters of Cheltenham, we’d expect their form to point upwards again.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
