Tip 1 - 2:45 Taunton - Pooley’s Promise
This looks like a substandard contest which won’t take much winning, so a change of scenery could do the trick for Pooley’s Promise. He hasn’t been running great over soft ground so a return to a sounder surface could help him today, he’s also having his first run for his new yard so there is a chance Neil Mulholland could get a tune out of him. He is only rated 1lb higher then when he last won, which was also over three miles on good ground, and has Bradley Harris taking three off his back. He has a bit more going for him than most in the field.

Tip 2 - 3:45 Taunton - Ede’iffs Rock
Ede’iffs Rock is likely to find this more difficult than either of her two course and distance wins, one of which being last time out. Each of those races were mares’ races and she’s been raised 10 pounds for her last run. Despite being against the boys here, she appears to be on the up, which is something that can’t be said of most of her rivals. Back at her favourite track, she’ll take all the beating.

Tip 4 - 4:15 Taunton - Wolf Walker
A couple in this look like interesting contenders. We go with the one that hasn’t won a rules race before in Wolf Walker. Was a three-time point-to-point winner, each time over further than today’s 2m3f, so he should have plenty of stamina. Was runner-up in each of first three hurdles races and then was sent in at the deep end of a Grade 3 just over two weeks ago. Led until the last couple of fences before being swiftly pulled up as the standard was a shade too high. Back in a Class 4 over one furlong fewer, and he should be bang there.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
