Tip 1 - 2:40 Fairyhouse - Majolique
The early morning drift on Majolique ahead of her Irish debut in February suggested that she needed the run. Ultimately, she scored decisively in a Listed race. If the expected improvement from that run comes to fruition, she looks to have very strong claims here in a race where her main market rivals are on the comeback trail following disappointing runs in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham.

Tip 2 - 2:55 Kempton - Devil’s Advocate
Devil’s Advocate has looked like a horse without a level at times. A dominant winner of a maiden on the all-weather in 2025, he struggled last year in pattern company, but did manage a handicap win at Doncaster off 104. He was last seen running a creditable race at a huge price in the Champion Stakes at Ascot in October. The weight conditions for this race are in his favour and he’ll take a lot of beating if fully revved up after nearly six months off.

Tip 3 - 3:50 Fairyhouse - The Yellow Clay
The Yellow Clay was in the process of running a huge race when coming down three out in the BetMGM Cup at Cheltenham. That was a first foray into handicapping for a horse whose entire hurdling career since a maiden win has been in Graded races. Tip 4 - 5:00 Fairyhouse - Showurappreciation
Having been handled perfectly in his prep for this, Showurappreciation gets in with a lovely racing weight. He’s won twice over fences and three times in all in 2026, arriving here on the crest of a wave. The way he’s won over shorter trips, being pushed along a fair way out and staying on strongly, suggests this step up in trip should suit. It’s a stern test for a horse with five career starts over fences, but we’ve seen novices do well in the Irish National before.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
