Tip 1 - 2:20 Plumpton - Applicationofcash
Applicationofcash ran well last time out for his new trainer considering he had been off the track for over a year. Clearly he needed the run and he jumped well on his first attempt over the larger obstacles. He was keen early on, which could be expected after being away for so long, but he’s down in trip today so should settle better. There has been much persistence with this horse who has had his issues, so there would be no surprise if he had more ability in him than a mark of 93 would suggest.

Tip 2 - 2:30 Hereford - Followcato
Followcato is on the hunt for a hat trick after successes at Ludlow and Exeter over the last month, and although he has his work cut out thanks to a 6lb rise, he is definitely worth chancing. The seven-year-old is by far the most experienced horse at this distance and his comfortable Class 3 victory at Exeter should set him in good stead as he drops down a grade today.

Tip 3 - 2:50 Plumpton - Good To Be Alive

Tip 4 - 3:10 Punchestown - Spinningayarn
The Gordon Elliott yard has slowed down somewhat after a very productive Christmas period, but they’re still finding winners. Spinningayarn looks to have a huge shout here. He came on a bundle from his season reappearance, where he was behind the re-opposing Parnell Street. What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
