Our Horse Racing Tips Staking Plan

Each selection we advised is a bet of £10 win single per horse. This is unless it is otherwise stated that is should be a £5 each way bet.

Do be aware that betting on horse racing is difficult to win consistently, that’s why we only use the best analysts and tipsters in the UK and Ireland to give their advice on this page. Previous performance is no guarantee of future success, and you should only bet with what you can afford to lose.

Horse Racing Betting Tips

Tip 1 - 2:10 Bellewstown - Big Bill

Big Bill ran a very promising race on Monday, which was his first run for 11 months and his first for Aidan Melia. He was bang there two furlongs out before weakening late. This drop in trip should suit and the application of first-time cheekpieces will hopefully help his tendency to hang. Down in trip, he looks set for a big run if avoiding the dreaded bounce factor on such a quick reappearance.

Tip 2 - 2:15 Southwell - Helios Allen

Helios Allen did well to be anywhere near the winner having his first run for almost two years last time out. He might have been beaten by over seven lengths but that winner could have a lot in hand considering Helios Allen was 27 lengths clear of everything else. He gets in here off the same mark and will have no doubt come on for the run. 74 is a very workable chase mark for a horse who has won over hurdles off 105 in the past.

Tip 3 - 4:35 Southwell - Duke Of Luckley

Technically on a hat trick after a pair of chase wins in his last two outings, Duke Of Luckley returns to hurdles for the first time in four years but looks more than able to continue his fine chase form this year. Indeed, he’s gone 1311 in his four races in 2026 and has a mark of just 120, which is reduced further by Freddie Keighley’s claim, and this distance has become somewhat of a specialty for the nine-year-old.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).

Where Can I Watch the Daily Horse Racing Selections Run?

The best place is always on the racecourse but that’s not very practical so when it’s not on terrestrial TV with the likes of Sky Sports Racing and ITV (or ITV 4) then the best way to get instant access to live pictures is with a live streaming bookmaker – try these three below for the best of the bunch. We've also got a page specifically dedicated to Cheltenham Festival live streaming.
