Our Horse Racing Tips Staking Plan

Each selection we advised is a bet of £10 win single per horse. This is unless it is otherwise stated that is should be a £5 each way bet.

Do be aware that betting on horse racing is difficult to win consistently, that’s why we only use the best analysts and tipsters in the UK and Ireland to give their advice on this page. Previous performance is no guarantee of future success, and you should only bet with what you can afford to lose.

Horse Racing Betting Tips

Tip 1 - 1:50 Ascot - Tex

The first thing that jumps off the racecard here is that Tex has Simon Walker in the saddle. He’s usually worth a few pounds in these races for amateur riders. Tex’s recent form stands out too. He’s won twice at Ascot since July, with a placed effort at Brighton and an eyecatching ninth-placed effort at Goodwood, where he stayed on late over an inadequate trip. He looks to have everything in his favour today and will take a lot of beating.

Tip 2 - 2:48 Hexham - Double Digits

It’s been a lengthy break for Double Digits but he’s shown consistency throughout his career and boasted form of 12422 prior to this time off. One of those runner up efforts was over course and distance when he lost to the 11/8 favourite, and if the time away hasn’t made him rusty then he should be right up there once again today.

Tip 3 - 3:16 Wolverhampton - Style King

A duff run at Newcastle last time out seems to have tempered Style King’s expectations but form of 31221 heading into that can’t be ignored. They were all on all-weather and the middle three results were over 6f, with the first win over course and distance, giving him a strong chance again today. If he can rediscover the form he showed prior to that run at Newcastle, he’ll be a huge threat.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).

Where Can I Watch the Daily Horse Racing Selections Run?

The best place is always on the racecourse but that’s not very practical so when it’s not on terrestrial TV with the likes of Sky Sports Racing and ITV (or ITV 4) then the best way to get instant access to live pictures is with a live streaming bookmaker – try these three below for the best of the bunch. We've also got a page specifically dedicated to Cheltenham Festival live streaming.
