Our Horse Racing Tips Staking Plan

Each selection we advised is a bet of £10 win single per horse. This is unless it is otherwise stated that is should be a £5 each way bet.

Do be aware that betting on horse racing is difficult to win consistently. Previous performance is no guarantee of future success, and you should only bet with what you can afford to lose.

Horse Racing Betting Tips

Tip 1 - 2:10 Killarney - Cladach

Cladach has a been a very busy horse, running five times since the start of August. He has the look of a horse that’s just waiting for his turn. In his last three runs, where he placed all three times, he stayed on late over a shorter trip, received a bump in the home straight and failed to get a gap at a crucial point. He’s unlucky not to have won a race, but compensation could await today.

Tip 2 - 2:51 Stratford - Roarin' Success

The combination of Stellarmasterpiece and Sean Bown is tough to bet against, with three wins and a second to their names from four attempts. However, it is Roarin' Success who looks the better option. Two course wins, including over course and distance, this summer and ran respectably after a short break last time out. Looks to be more to come from this mark of 104.

Tip 3 - 3:26 Stratford - Lermoos Legend

Lermoos Legend has been running well lately, runner up on his last three outings including when well clear of the rest last time out. He probably deserves a win for his consistency, and it looks like the handicapper agrees as he has eased him 1lb for what was a solid run. Sean Bowen is back in the saddle today over a slightly further trip than he has been running over, which should suit Lermoos Legend in his older years.

Tip 4 - 4:05 Yarmouth - Beach Point

This is a wide open race, and it’s Beach Point who gets the nod here after good outings in his last couple of runs, first winning at Goodwood and then coming second by a nose to the favourite at Epsom last month. He finished within two lengths of the winner in two course-and-distance efforts here earlier this year, adding to his previous C&D win a couple of years ago and a C&D second here last year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).

Where Can I Watch the Daily Horse Racing Selections Run?

The best place is always on the racecourse but that’s not very practical so when it’s not on terrestrial TV with the likes of Sky Sports Racing and ITV (or ITV 4) then the best way to get instant access to live pictures is with a live streaming bookmaker – try these three below for the best of the bunch. We've also got a page specifically dedicated to Cheltenham Festival live streaming.
