In October 2018, NASCAR debuted its first on-site sports betting kiosk during a race at Dover International Speedway. Nearly a year later, NASCAR is taking motorsports betting to the next level.

Radio and media company Performance Racing Network and sports betting media company Vegas Stats & Information Network are teaming with NASCAR in a long-term content partnership to bring sports betting media content to NASCAR.com and other entertainment platforms, Speedway Digest documented. The show debuts this weekend.

NASCAR Sports Betting Show to Run an Hour

Embracing the popularity of sports betting, the trio of organizations will soon debut a new 60-minute show, “Racers Odds.” The new series is described as the most detailed breakdown of betting information for NASCAR events; the show will be dedicated to analyzing betting lines, odds, and head-to-head matchups ahead of weekly races.

“Racers Odds” will feature Jeff Cogliandro and Steve Makinen, two VSiN sports betting experts, teaming with two NASCAR analysts from PRN, Jeff Hammond and John Roberts. The foursome will report on news and betting insights to NASCAR fans and betting enthusiasts alike.

NASCAR Managing Director of Gaming Scott Warfield spoke about the groundbreaking venture through a PRN official press release.

"Sports betting presents a great opportunity for NASCAR to strengthen engagement with fans, so it's important that we provide content that helps educate fans about this fast-evolving space,” he said.

“Elevating NASCAR gaming content is a critical area of focus for us, and PRN and VSiN are perfectly positioned to help us accomplish that goal during the most exciting portion of the stock car racing season – the NASCAR playoffs."

Multiple Media Outlets Embrace Sports Betting

Once considered taboo, sports betting is becoming ever more popular nationwide among the masses. Numerous media and entertainment companies have implemented sports betting shows in their programming.

Fox Sports 1 launched its weekday sports betting show, “Lock It In,” last fall. “Daily Wager” has gained enough traction on ESPNews that the company is moving the sports betting show to the more popular ESPN2 station at the end of September.

In addition, several sports wagering series have debuted over the past couple of years on SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and “Racers Odds” will soon join that list.

In the official press release, PRN Senior Vice President and General Manager Gerry Horn talked about how excited the company is to enter the world of sports betting.

"When the Supreme Court cleared the way to allow individual states to legalize sports wagering, we knew right away that we not only wanted to be in this space, but that we wanted to be the first to take the lead in what will be a bright and exciting new chapter for NASCAR, our fans, and a growing audience of motorsports wagerers,” he said.

“Racers Odds” premieres this Sunday, Sept. 15, at 6 p.m. ET on NASCAR.com, VSiN.com, and SiriusXM. The inaugural episode of the sports betting show airs an hour before the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series playoffs begin with the South Point 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The show will focus on providing odds and insights on the race.
