They then beat the Buffalo Bills in a very close game to advance to the AFC Conference Championship game. Normally, the odds for this game would be a lot tighter; however, the Broncos suffered a massive blow when HC Sean Payton announced, following the Bills game, that QB Bo Nix had broken his ankle and would be out for the remainder of the playoffs. That means backup QB Jarrett Stidham is now the starting quarterback for the Broncos. He’s a decent enough player, but probably doesn’t have enough reps this season to come into such a big, high-pressure situation and beat a great team like the Patriots.

Without Nix, it is challenging to see the Broncos winning this game. While Stidham is a solid backup QB, being thrown into this playoff game is a tough spot for any professional athlete. Look for the Patriots to win this game by at least a touchdown and cover the -5.5 point spread.
