Aaron Rodgers is certainly one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. But is there enough left in the tank for a Super Bowl run?

If the 2024 season wasn't his worst as a starter in his illustrious career spanning nearly two decades, it was his second-worst- only behind the 2022 season, his last as a full-time starter with the Packers. Sandwiched between was the Achilles injury that sidelined him all but one drive of '22.

With the dismal 5-12 Jets season to a merciful end, Rodgers says he'll take some time away from the game and assess where he's at. Meanwhile, the Jets announced publicly they're moving on. While he may not be the level of QB who has won four MVP awards, he's still better than a lot of starters in this league. After all, his "second-worst season" included 28 TDs to just nine INTs with a 63% completion rate.

Here are the updated Aaron Rodgers 2025 team NFL odds from Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson.

Analyzing Potential 2025 Team Destinations

Rodgers has a Super Bowl ring and four Most Valuable Player Awards. Teams believing they’re a reliable QB from competing will call on Rodgers if he’s available.

It sounds as though the Jets, with a new general manager and head coach, are ready to begin a new chapter without A-Rod

Rodgers has a no-trade clause (which he can veto), but the Jets could cut him with a post-June 1 designation and spread the dead-cap money produced from the release over two years.

People got excited two off-seasons ago about a possible Rodgers-to-Pittsburgh connection. It didn’t happen, but the Steelers may be in the running again this winter. Pittsburgh has no QB under contract for 2025, as both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields will be unrestricted free agents, leaving a spot under center for a contender. It makes sense for both sides to look into it.

The San Francisco 49ers have a decision to make on Brock Purdy in the near future. Purdy had a notable slump in his second full season as a starter. The Niners may not want to pay Purdy big, but they are built in every other way to get to another Super Bowl. The Bay Area native may relish an opportunity to return home.

The Cleveland Browns have Deshaun Watson, who has been nothing short of a franchise-flailing disaster. A QB-for-QB trade could be intriguing for both sides, as the Browns are built to win now, and Watson could thrive with a fresh start and change of scenery. The Browns have been built to a Super Bowl title

Sam Darnold will be a free agent for the Minnesota Vikings, as will Nick Mullens, leaving unproven rookie J.J. McCarthy as the top option for a team that wants to compete now. Will the Vikings pay Darnold what he earned in 2022, or is there a QB1 opening? Would Rodgers follow Brett Favre’s path from Green Bay to New York to Minnesota?

The Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants don’t have their starting QBs on the roster. Both will be primed to pick one up at the 2025 NFL Draft as part of rebuilds.

The Seattle Seahawks don't appear to be all in on Geno Smith, who statistically has been solid but has been prone to game-changing mistakes. A QB-for-QB swap could be enticing for both sides here, perhaps more so for the Jets.
