The Carolina Panthers were eliminated from postseason contention several weeks ago. However, they will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18 as the defending Super Bowl champions fight for seeding in the NFC. But with the Buccaneers already clinching the NFC South and no chance at the No. 1 seed, it remains to be seen how much (or if at all) the starters will play with the playoffs just around the corner.

Panthers WR D.J. Moore vs. Buccaneers CB Carlton Davis: Moore has had a nice season, but quarterback play has hurt him again. He needs 95 total yards to go over 1,200 yards for a third consecutive season.

Panthers vs. Buccaneers Point Spread

The Buccaneers are 8-point favorites in this game on most betting sites and that feels about right. These two teams did meet just two weeks ago and the Buccaneers won 32-6 on the road. But given that this is the last game before the playoffs and all of the injuries Tampa Bay has going into Week 18, it wouldn’t be a surprise if several starters were benched or saw their snaps limited.

Panthers vs. Buccaneers Totals

Like many of the other point totals this week, we have another low one here between the Panthers and the Buccaneers. This one sits at 41.5, which feels very low. However, it’s important to remember that there were only 38 total points scored in the previous meeting between these two teams.

Carolina’s offense has been one of the worst in the NFL this season as they have not scored more than 21 points in a game since Nov. 14. This is one of the least explosive offenses in the NFL and it doesn’t feel like this is the week they get back on track.
