The Dallas Cowboys were one of the most disappointing NFL teams in 2024. After winning the NFL East with a 12-5 record the season prior, the Cowboys had a season from hell as they fell to 7-10 and missed the playoffs.

To make matters worse, starting quarterback Dak Prescott was injured for most of the season. After the season finished, the Cowboys let go of former head coach Mike McCarthy and replaced him with offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer as the team looks to make it back to the postseason.

For that to happen, the Cowboys need better players. With the No. 12 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Cowboys can pick up a nice prospect. With their draft pick soon to be on the board, Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has put together hypotheticalNFL odds for sports betting on who the Cowboys will pick next in the draft.

Cowboys' Top Contenders

Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise St. (+275)

The Cowboys need a long-term solution at running back, and Ashton Jeanty of Boise State would be a great pickup for the Cowboys if he’s still there at No. 12.

Kelvin Banks Jr., T, Texas (+500)

The Cowboys need help on the offensive line as well, and Kelvin Banks Jr. of Texas would provide a nice injection of young talent on the o-line if they take him.

Armand Membou, T, Missouri (+500)

Similarly, Arman Membou of Missouri would be a solid pick for the Cowboys if they are dead set on improving their offensive line, which is a real possibility.

Luther Burden, WR, Missouri (+550)

The Cowboys could use another wide receiver, and Luther Burden of Missouri would be an interesting addition to the team with Prescott slated to return to full health next year.

Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas (+750)

Another position the Cowboys could look to strengthen is cornerback, and taking Texas’ Jahdae Barron would certainly help them there.

Shemar Stewart, DL, Texas A&M (+800)

Should the Cowboys attack the defensive line instead, Texas A&M’s Shemar Stewart makes sense.

Matthew Golden, WR, Texas (+1400)

Matthew Golden of Texas is another wide receiver who would be a good pickup for the Cowboys if they want to improve their receiving corps with the No. 12 pick.

Omarion Hampton, RB, No. Carolina (+1400)

Omarion Hampton of Carolina is another running back that the Cowboys could consider selecting with the No. 12 pick if Jeanty is off the board.

The Field (+1200)

Let’s face it: the Cowboys need help everywhere, making the field a viable option for their pick.
