In 2022, Davante Adams signed a massive five-year, $140 million contract with the Las Vegas Raiders to play with friend Derek Carr and compete for a championship ring.

Instead, Carr was traded just one season later, the Raiders have a new coach and the team seems closer to a rebuild than a title. Now, it appears the six-time Pro Bowl receiver may be on the trade block.

Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson reveals his NFL odds as to where Adams is playing by Week 10, right after the trade deadline.

In Green Bay, Davante Adams paired with Aaron Rodgers, then he was a force to be reckoned with. Adams caught at least 111 passes on three occasions and led the NFL in TDs and yards per game in 2020.

He parlayed that into a contract that the Packers couldn’t afford in 2022 and picked up where he left off, with 100 receptions, 1,516 yards, and a league-leading 14 TDs. Last season, Adams still caught 103 passes, but his yardage dipped by nearly 400 yards, and his TDs cut in half.

Through three games in 2024, he has just one TD, his yards per game are on par with ’23, and the Raiders don’t appear ready to compete with the Chiefs or other top AFC contenders.

To make matters worse, Raiders coach Antonio Pierce “liked” an Instagram post about Adams possibly being traded, before un-liking it. Too late, coach. We all saw it.

The asking price is reportedly a second-round pick. That’s doable for a lot of teams. What’s less doable is the contract that comes with it.

Adams counts $25.4 million toward the salary cap for this season, but that number balloons to a whopping $44.1 million for both ’25 and ’26. He will be 33 and 34 years of age by then, so it is going to take a major contract restructuring to make things work, or a squad with deep pockets.

Adams does not have a no-trade clause, so Vegas can move him anywhere they like.

Where Could Davante Adams Be Traded to?

The Pittsburgh Steelers have George Pickens but slim pickings after that. The New York Jets are all-in and have the cash to boost a WR core that would be incredibly tough if Adams paired back with Rodgers and joined Garrett Wilson. Both teams make a lot of sense, and have the means, which is why they’re favorites to land Adams before the trade deadline.

Reuniting with Rodgers is reportedly one of two favored landing spots for Adams, pushing New York into the lead.

After getting spurned by Brandon Aiyuk despite offering a contract of $30 million per year, the New England Patriots are desperate for anyone to join the team. Surely, the Pats wouldn’t be high on Adams’ list either if he wants to win now. But he has little say in where he winds up. No team has more available cap space in 2025 than New England.

The Dallas Cowboys are in desperation mode, and throw more than any team. The WR2 spot has been a bust, so adding Adams would be a huge boon to the offense. Jerry Jones wants to win a Super Bowl right now, so expect Dallas to be serious suitors despite salary cap concerns for the next two years after inking Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb to massive deals of their own.

Carr's New Orleans Saints is the other preferred landing spot for Adams. One major hurdle: The Saints are already nearly $100 million over the projected 2025 salary cap

The Kansas City Chiefs will be talked about due to the injury to top WR Rashee Rice. But there are cap issues, and would Vegas really make such a deal with hated KC? The Colts have WRs but rank 22nd in passing. Another weapon for second-year QB Anthony Richardson would be welcomed, and Indy can make it work.

The Field includes teams  that could use a boost in the WR room but likely don’t have the funds to make it work, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills and New York Giants
