Davante Adams 2025 Team Odds: Where Will He Play Next?

A one-plus-year stint with the Las Vegas Raiders and a half-season run with the New York Jets for star receiver Davante Adams has concluded with many more losses than victories. 

A forgettable two-year run since being traded by the Green Bay Packers is over after the Jets announced plans to release Adams. It saves the team nearly $30 million in cap space and allows Adams to seek his new home as a free agent.

A tumultuous 20224 season for Adams started with the hapless Raiders and ended with the equally hapless Jets. Through it all, however, Adams still delivered, finishing with 85 receptions for 1,063 yards and eight TDs. All things considered, it was a pretty impressive output. 

Now Adams hopes to join a contender with a competent QB. There are teams out there that fit his needs, some of which have cap space to spend and a need for the position. 

The Green Bay Packers have been mentioned as an obvious choice. Adams flourished in Titletown with Aaron Rodgers, and current Packers players want him back. Green Bay isn’t usually one to spend big on free agents, especially WRs, but a reunion boosts a team's need. 

Adams, a Bay Area native, has hinted he would prefer a West Coast stop to his career. That opens the door for the Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, and San Francisco 49ers. All three teams have a real shot though each has reason to not spend big on Adams. The Chargers have the most cap space of the three but only a semi-need at receiver, the Rams have the QB, and the system but are looking to unload Cooper Kupp, and the Niners just traded Deebo Samuel but have a strong roster of wideouts in tow. 

The Denver Broncos check a lot of boxes and have a real need for a top-two WR to play opposite Courtland Sutton, who too often was the only viable target for Bo Nix. 

The New England Patriots can throw more money at Adams than anyone, but may not be the contender or geographical favorite for Davante. The Kansas City Chiefs have the pedigree and quarterback, but not the cap flexibility.
