Once again, the Raiders enter a game with off-the-field news dominating the week, as they released Henry Ruggs following his involvement in a fatal car accident. The Giants return home following a tight road loss in Kansas City.

For two teams who look like they are going in opposite directions, sportsbooks still have this as one of the tighter NFL spreads of the week. The Giants are tied for last in the NFC East, 2-6 on the year, with a point-differential of -44. They continue to deal with injury – notably the absence of Saquon Barkley. The Raiders are getting back a healthy Darren Waller, who is not on the injury list.

The Raiders return to action at 5-2 on the year with a one-game lead over the Chargers in the AFC West. It’s only a 3-point line as the Raiders hit the road, and they still are 2-1 away from Vegas. Looking at how some NFL betting plays out this week, it’s worth a look to see how much public money pours in on the Raiders – ultimately moving the line.

Raiders vs. Giants Key Matchups

Giants LB/DB vs Darren Waller: Waller is everything to the Raiders offense but defending the middle of the field seems to be a strength for the Giants defense.

Daniel Jones vs Raiders Secondary: The Giants can move the ball in the air with Daniel Jones – 12th in the NFL in passing offense, but the Raiders are top-eight in defending the pass.

Any Healthy Giants WR vs Raiders DBs: The Raiders have a significant advantage here because the Giants are a turnstile of injured receivers.

Raiders vs. Giants Key Stats

2: Two Giants WRs – Kenny Golladay and Sterling Shepard – missed practice this week due to injury. Kadarius Toney was at least limited.

1 in 4: The Giants have only hit 20 points in one of their last four games, something the Raiders did in each of their last two games – both wins.

5: Josh Jacobs has 5 rushing TDs on the season and was not on the injury report heading into Week 9.

324.1: The best thing the Raiders do is pass – 2nd in the NFL with 324 passing yards per game. Another reason to add the Raiders to your NFL picks this week is how well they defend the pass, only giving up 236.6 yards in the air per game.

5: Daniel Jones has thrown 5 INTs in eight games to only 7 passing TDs.

241: Jones also leads the Giants in rushing with 241 total yards on the ground.

Raiders vs. Giants Player Props

Darren Waller, Over 5.5 Receptions

Odds: -105 at DraftKings ➜

Waller returns from missing Week 7’s game against the Eagles. The Raiders have an obvious absence at the WR spot so stands to reason Carr will look Waller’s way even more. Plus, the Giants aren’t great at defending the TE.

Hunter Renfrow, Over 20.5 Yards Longest Reception

Odds: -110 at DraftKings ➜

With no Ruggs on the outside, there isn’t much competition for a deep look downfield to Renfrow. It’s also a lower number where one reception can go over.

Josh Jacobs, Over 15.5 Rush Attempts

Odds: -110 at BetMGM ➜

Jacobs returns from leaving the Raiders' game before the bye week with injury. The Raiders should be up and looking to run out the clock on the road, and Jacobs needs carries as the season hits the second half.

Raiders vs. Giants Moneyline

The Giants have some short value on the ML at home as a dog, but they haven’t played well enough to think they can hang with Vegas. The Raiders have played well on the road and already shown they can play despite distraction off the field. The Giants play well and cover bigger spreads on the road, but at home they’ve been brutal.

It’s just not enough points on the ML to risk taking a 2-6 team against a winning football club, especially with Waller and Jacobs returning.

Raiders vs. Giants Points Spread

The Raiders are only laying a field goal at most betting sites with little-to-no main injury concerns. The Giants are still hurting on offense and will be without Barkley and possibly two starting WRs.

The defense has been solid against the pass, but the Giants can’t stop anyone on the ground. The Raiders aren’t the best running team but will have options with the return of Jacobs to their backfield. The Raiders will get up and do enough to get out with a win, avoiding the back-door cover. You can get the Raiders -3 (+100) at DraftKings. ➜

Raiders vs. Giants Points Total

The Giants love playing to the under at home, seven of their last eight to be exact at MetLife. It’s worth noting the Raiders are coming off a bye and will do most of their damage early in the game, coming into it healthy and fresh. The Giants' only recourse would be to run the football against the weaker Raiders Run D, but they will be playing from behind and throwing the ball.

Unfortunately for over bettors, those passes won’t connect, and the Raiders will be running out the clock by the end of the third quarter. The clock moves and the total goes under. You can get Under 47 (-110) at BetMGM. ➜
