NFL survivor pools have exploded in popularity, and at levels for all kinds of fans, from family pools to those with thousands of dollars in cash prizes on the line.

The simple nature of it is a major draw for NFL betting: Survivor pools entail picking one team to win each week, but never picking the same team twice.

It's not how much your team wins by in a survivor pool. Simply, it's about picking a winner and moving on — and sometimes saving the biggest favorite for a future week.

We share picks each week here, confident in getting you to the next week of your survivor pool and putting you in good position for future weeks.

Here is the pick for Week 13:

Seattle Seahawks

Certainly, the Seahawks aren’t coming off their best performance, a listless 17-12 home loss to the Giants. Seattle outplayed New York but it didn’t show up on the scoreboard; the Giants made key stops and were more effective in the red zone.

Now the Seahawks, motivated to prove they’re still a Super Bowl contender, host the Jets. The Jets have the worst offense — their 15.0 ppg is 3.8 fewer than any other team, their 277 ypg is 35 yards fewer than any other — and no team is worse in the red zone.

Seattle’s defense is not good, especially vs. the pass, but the Jets are not just bad, they’re discombobulated. They’ll be breaking in a new defensive coordinator on Sunday, to boot.

The Jets of course are winless, but they’ve been especially non-competitive on the road. Aside from a 34-28 nailbiter at the Chargers — the only team perhaps worse-coached than the Jets — the Jets have dropped their other four roadies by an average of 22.3 ppg.

Other Week 14 contenders:

Tennessee Titans: The Jaguars have played better of late but it hasn’t translated into wins. The Titans were manhandled by the Browns before nearly completing a furious rally.

New Orleans Saints: Drew Brees may or may not play, Jalen Hurts may or may not start. How each plays is also in question. We’ll hold the Saints for another time.
