The New England Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams to claim Super Bowl LIV. As Tom Brady and Bill Belichick continue adding to their collection, the rest of the teams shift their focus to next season and whether they can dethrone the champs, and NFL betting fans start thinking about 2020 Super Bowl betting.

The oddsmakers at 888Sports have opened up the Super Bowl LIV futures and there are three teams that are equal favorites: New England Patriots (+750), Los Angeles Rams (+750) and Kansas City Chiefs (+750).

The Patriots, of course, aren’t likely to be doubted again as they were this year. Even though Brady will be 42 years old next season, as long as him and Belichick return, there’s no reason to think this team won’t contend for a title.

Who Can Challenge the Patriots?

As for the Rams, who came up short in the Super Bowl, they’ll again be a strong contender but they could have a very different roster next season. Ndamukong Suh, Lamarcus Joyner, Rodger Saffold, Cory Littleton, Dante Fowler Jr., Sam Shields and C.J. Anderson are all set to hit free agency. Their defense will likely have to be rebuilt.

Patrick Mahomes during the 2019 AFC title game.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs lead the way of teams who didn’t make it to the Super Bowl. With Patrick Mahomes coming off an MVP-caliber season and almost all of their offense back, they’ll be in great shape. If they can add a piece or two to the defense and keep Dee Ford, who finished second on the team with 13 sacks, they will again contend for the AFC crown.

After the top three, there are only four other teams inside of 20/1, and those sides are the Indianapolis Colts (+1400), Los Angeles Chargers (+1400), Philadelphia Eagles (+1600) and Chicago Bears (+1700).

Looking further down the chart, the Cleveland Browns – the franchise that hasn’t had a winning season in 11 years – are at +2000. It’s hard to believe that they’re ahead of the Minnesota Vikings (+2200) and Green Bay Packers (+2500), a couple of teams that entered the 2019 campaign among the favorites.

Some Teams Offer Value

Looking at the teams who could potentially offer some value, a number of bettors might like the Houston Texans at +2800. They were a team that went 11-5 but are among the longer shots in 2019.

The Texans went 11-5 last season but are still longer shots.

Also, the Jacksonville Jaguars could be a team that turns things around quickly. Price at +4000, they played in the AFC Championship Game just two seasons ago and still have a very good defense. The key for them will be to find some weapons on offense – including a quarterback – who can help balance out the team.

The Carolina Panthers 2018 campaign started 6-2 before a seven-game losing streak torpedoed their season. However, they haven’t posted back-to-back losing seasons under head coach Ron Rivera since his first and second years.

As a matter of fact, each of the last three times that they’ve finished a season with a losing record, they’ve won at least 11 games the following year. They’re at +6600.

The longest shot on the board is the Miami Dolphins. With a new head coach, the reported pending release of Ryan Tannehill and the rumors that this team will be tanking in 2019, they enter the offseason at +15000.
