UFC 275 Odds, Picks & Betting Predictions for Teixeira vs Prochazka

Adam Martin | 8 mins

UFC 275 goes down this Saturday at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. The UFC betting card features two title fights, with the UFC light heavyweight title on the line, as well as the women’s flyweight belt. In this week’s best bets, we break down both of these title fights and give our UFC picks for who we believe will emerge as champions on the night.
UFC 275 Teixeira vs Prochazka Odds
UFC 275 Main Event Best Bet
Jiri Prochazka (-195) vs. Glover Teixeira (+165)
The main event of UFC 275 sees UFC light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira put his belt on the line against emerging contender Jiri Prochazka. Teixeira is a +165 underdog here, and I believe there is value in the champion as the underdog.
Teixeira is coming off a first-round submission win over Jan Blachowicz where he was an underdog. At age 42 and the oldest light heavyweight on the UFC roster, Teixeira won’t be favored against many of the top contenders. In fact, he was the underdog in his last three fights against Blachowicz, Thiago Santos, and Anthony Smith. But he went in there and dominated all three, finishing them all. Teixeira has incredible grappling skills and he has good striking, too. Yes, he is old and his chin is not the greatest, but as long as he doesn’t get knocked out, he is the more complete MMA fighter compared to Prochazka.
Don’t get me wrong, I see why Prochazka is the favorite here. After all, he’s only 29 years old, he is riding a long win streak with a bunch of knockouts, and he is 2-0 in the UFC with two highlight-reel finishes.
That being said, I’ve watched enough of Prochazka to know that his defensive grappling is a major hole, and Teixeira is the best grappler at 205lbs right now. Obviously, Prochazka has a chance to knock Teixeira out if the fight stays standing. But I really feel like this is a much closer fight than the odds indicate. I don’t agree at all with Prochazka being a near 2-to-1 favorite, and believe the value is on Teixeira to win this fight.
I’m going with Teixeira to pull off the upset and defeat Prochazka as a +165 underdog onbetting sites. For more value, take a shot on Teixeira finishing the fight by submission.

UFC 275 Co-Main Event Best Bet
Valentina Shevchenko (-720) vs. Taila Santos (+500)
The co-main event features UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko going up against challenger Taila Santos. The line on Shevchenko is hefty -720 odds, but I believe she will once again defend her title by defeating Santos in this fight.
Shevchenko moved down to 125lbs in 2018, and since then, she has gone a perfect 8-0 in the weight class, including seven straight victories in title fights. She is one of the most dominant champions in the sport right now in any weight class.
Shevchenko is also one of the most well-rounded and dangerous fighters in the sport, as she has devastating knockout power on the feet and also a dominant ground game. She has been unbeatable at flyweight and there is no reason to think that she is going to struggle when she takes on Santos at UFC 275. Shevchenko has already fought and defeated more accomplished fighters and you can’t bet against her right now.
I actually really like Santos and think she is one of the best women’s flyweights in the sport, so she is well-deserving of this title shot. In her last fight, she absolutely destroyed Joanne Wood in a breakthrough performance. But going from Wood to Shevchenko is a massive step up in competition. Truthfully, I would have liked to have seen Santos get a little more UFC experience before getting this fight. She is definitely a good fighter who has solid striking and grappling skills, but it just feels like Shevchenko is going to present her with problems she’s never seen.
I don’t see how you can bet against Shevchenko given how dominant she’s been in the UFC. The line is really high at -720 on betting apps, but Shevchenko should win this fight and add another title defense to her future Hall of Fame resume. I want to add that Santos is tough and should give Shevchenko a competitive fight, so for a prop, I lean towards Shevchenko winning by decision.
The Pick: Valentina Shevchenko wins at -720 with DraftKings ➜
Alternative Pick: Valentina Shevchenko wins by decision at +100 with DraftKings ➜
