Southampton suffered Premier League relegation in 2022, but they only spent one season in the Championship and returned to the top flight this season. The Hampshire club have been odds-on for relegation for the majority of the season, however, and Russell Martin was relieved of his duties Sunday after a humbling 5-0 defeat at home to Tottenham.

Football betting sites are now pricing up the Next Southampton FC Manager betting market, with a number of interesting names in the frame. Danny Rohl, who has done an impressive job with Sheffield Wednesday in his first managerial role, is the early favourite to take over, with former Denmark boss Kasper Hjulmand close behind.

David Moyes is also among the favourites with betting apps given his track record in the Premier League, while the likes of Carlos Corberan, Graham Potter and Ivan Juric could be of interest if new betting sites are to be believed.

Danny Rohl Could be Left-Field Switch

Danny Rohl was something of a surprise appointment at Hillsborough last season when they were fighting to stay in the Championship. However, after a slow start, he managed to keep the team in the Championship. This season, he has built on that, and Wednesday are in the hunt for a playoff spot. Given the youthful nature of the Southampton squad, Rohl, the youngest manager in the Football League at 35 - could be seen as perfect candidate. Betting sites certainly think so, with his name at the top of betting markets for the time being.

David Moyes a Safe Pair of Hands?

David Moyes has been a successful manager almost everywhere he has been in his career, and his record of keeping struggling teams in the Premier League is almost second to none, with only Sunderland's demise on his record. He was most recently at West Ham, were he took them from struggling to stay in the league to respectable mid-table finishes and even a European trophy in the form of the UEFA Europa Conference League. His style of football would be quite the departure from what Saints fans have seen of late, but if he keeps them in the league they won't mind a jot. Apple Pay betting sites suggest he could be of interest.

Carlos Corberan Ready For Step Up?

Carlos Corberan has been linked with many Premier League openings since his first season with Huddersfield Town almost led them to the Premier League. He soon left for Olympiacos, where he didn't last too long and now has West Brom ticking along in the Championship. He likes his team to play expansive football and would be a good stylistic fit with the Southampton players. Perhaps this is the team that finally takes the plunge and appoints him in the Premier League, with fast withdrawal betting sites suggesting the Saints hierarchy may want to talk to him.

Steven Gerrard Mentioned for Saints Role

Steven Gerrard is being linked to a number of vacant managerial roles after Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq changed the management structure last month. They are in their winter break at present, but it appears that Gerrard may be on borrowed time there. The former Aston Villa manager didn't cover himself in glory in the Midlands, but he will want to demonstrate that he's still capable of being successful.

After all, Gerrard previously succeeded with Rangers and ended the Celtic stranglehold north of the border. Therefore, perhaps Southampton might consider him as a possible candidate to bring the good times back at St Mary's. The scouser is well connected thanks to his involvement in the game, and the latest odds from Trustly betting sites suggest he could throw his hat into the ring if he wants a return to the UK.
