Southampton suffered Premier League relegation last season, but hopes were high at the beginning of the campaign that new manager Will Still could get them back to the top division. However, after just two wins from their opening 13 games of the season, Still has been sacked.
Football betting sites are now pricing up the Next Southampton FC Manager betting market. Russell Martin, who did so well to help get the club promoted two seasons ago, is the shock early favourite to take over, with the likes of Michael Carrick and Brendan Rodgers close behind.
Another shock name among the favourites with betting apps is former Southampton boss Ralhp Hasenhuttl, while the likes of Lee Carsley and Gary O'Neil could also be of interest if new betting sites are to be believed.

Russell Martin Set For Shock Return?
He might have been unable to keep them in the Premier League last season, but Russell Martin certainly played a part in getting them there in the first place, and it would be no surprise to see Southampton turn to him again to see if he can perform the same trick twice.
Martin faced derision for not changing his style of play in the Premier League, and then became the shortest reigning manager in Rangers history after a disastrous spell in Scotland earlier this season. He probably needs to step down a level to resurrect his career, and Southampton would be a comfortable fit for him, which is reflected in his price at most betting sites.
Brendan Rodgers a Safe Pair of Hands?
Brendan Rodgers won’t have much time to get his feet up at home, if he’s keen on taking on the Southampton job. He resigned from the Celtic manager’s job on 27th October but will still be a man in demand given his record at clubs such as Swansea and Leicester.
Whether he would be willing to accept a role in the Championship after so long is up for debate, but the current odds with top betting sites suggest he could at least be of interest to the Southampton board. It will be interesting to keep an eye on his odds at top Apple Pay betting sites as the next few days go on.
Michael Carrick Ready For Return to Management?
It wasn’t that long ago that Michael Carrick was in high demand after impressive results in his first couple of seasons at Middlesbrough, but a 10th-place finish last time out ended his tenure there just one year after signing a three-year extension.
Nevertheless, it’s likely he will get another shot in the Championship sooner rather than later, given the exciting attacking play he demonstrated in his first season at Boro, and Southampton may opt to take a chance on the former England midfielder as a long-term project. Fast withdrawal betting sites suggest the Saints hierarchy may want to talk to him.

Ralph Hasenhuttl Mentioned for Surprise Saints Return
It wouldn’t come as a shock to see Ralph Hassenhuttl make a return to Southampton on the back of a spell at Wolfsburg. The Austrian was in charge of the Saints for three years, with them seemingly established as a Premier League side.
Sacked in 2022 with the St. Mary’s club in the relegation zone, he may feel as though he has some unfinished business. Whether the board would be open to re-appointing him, or indeed whether he would accept an offer is up for the debate, but our list of betting sites has him as one of the likelier candidates for the job,
