Tip 1 - 2:30 Punchestown - Park Of Kings 

It’s probably no surprise that JP McManus has one ready for this race each year, the Punchestown handicap sponsored by the hotel he owns is an obvious target. Not only does he do well in the race, but it’s usually the shortest price runner he has which runs best as well. With this in mind we can ignore anything negative in Park Of Kings form and expect him to be in the places at a minimum.

Tip 2 - 3:35 Wolverhampton - Gogo Yubari

This in-form 3yo is looking for a bold hat-trick bid stepping up from the minimum distance to six furlongs today. Last win by half a length suggested she would appreciate the extra furlong today. Won over six furlongs four races ago at Lingfield in a slightly weaker field and penny appears to have dropped this year with Rhys Clutterbuck on board. They have been together for five races, and the form figures are 12111. Those four victories are the only ones in Gogo Yubari’s career to date, and another bold bid for a win is expected with the pair together again.

Tip 3 - 4:50 Punchestown - Romeo Coolio

We’ve already seen a couple of reversals of form from Cheltenham at Punchestown, and Romeo Coolio may be able to provide another. He ran a massive race to finish second behind Jasmin De Vaux in the Champion Bumper, despite reportedly not having the smoothest prep for the race. That was evidenced by the fact that he went from around 6/1 for the race a week before it to 18/1 on the day. With a nicer build-up to this race, and trainer Gordon Elliott sending out a bumper winner yesterday, Romeo Coolio could turn the Cheltenham form around.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
