Who’s ready for another week of “MACtion?”
Our favorite college football betting in all the land returns to primetime Thursday night when Ohio takes on Louisiana-Lafayette at Cajun Field. The Bobcats are a 21-point underdog and desperate for positive signs – Ohio opened the season third in college football odds to win the MAC at +550 but has since fallen to +2000 to win the MAC after an 0-2 start.
The conference is still waiting for its first major upset of the season after a pair of close calls in Week 2, with Toledo falling 32-29 at Notre Dame and Miami (Ohio) losing 31-26 at Minnesota. The conference will have more chances this week in a series of marquee matchups.
A surprisingly decent-looking Northern Illinois squad heads to Michigan as a +27.5 underdog, Kent State is getting 22.5 points at No. 5 Iowa and Central Michigan is a 19.5-point underdog Saturday night at LSU on most betting apps.
Toledo (-14 vs. Colorado State) and Eastern Michigan (-22 at UMass) are the only MAC teams giving points this week at sportsbooks and betting sites. But we’re already overdue for a few wild games and upsets entering Week 3.

Coastal Carolina-Buffalo Over 58
That Chanticleers offense is rolling again, and we don’t know if this Bulls defense can avoid a big number on that end. Buffalo couldn’t get off the field on third down and gave up nearly 300 passing yards on just 14 completions in last week’s loss at Nebraska.
However, Buffalo’s offense was just outmuscled by the Cornhuskers’ front seven and should have a lot more success with the rushing attack this week. Coastal Carolina is vulnerable there having allowed nearly 200 yards per game on the ground so far this season.
This will be a fireworks show. We expect the Chanticleers to have a lot of success in the passing game and Buffalo to get things moving with some big carries. Buffalo might not have the ability to go score-for-score as a +14 underdog, but we expect them to produce more than enough on offense to send this total Over 58. Take the bet with FanDuel ➜.

Pittsburgh -15 over Western Michigan
Pittsburgh’s offense looked outstanding after a slow start last week against Tennessee. Senior quarterback Kenny Pickett is clearly in command and completing nearly 70% of his throws, with 557 yards and four touchdown passes through two games. The Panthers could also shred the Broncos on the ground, with Western Michigan giving up 335 rushing yards against Michigan in the opener.
We’re not sure what to make of these Broncos yet – they look capable of beating some decent teams in the MAC, but hanging with the Panthers will be a tall order. And Pat Narduzzi’s teams are always ready to go no matter the opponent. We’re on Pittsburgh -15 at BetMGM. ➜

Kent State +22.5 over Iowa
This is your classic letdown game for an Iowa team coming off a massive upset win at rival Iowa State. And the Hawkeyes better not get too comfortable against this Kent State offense.
The Golden Flashes racked up 226 rushing yards in a season-opening loss at Texas A&M and have a lot of speed at the skill positions. Quarterback Dustin Crum is off to a slow start and just needs to find his confidence again, which is admittedly tough to do against the Hawkeyes in Iowa City.
We expect this game to get a little wacky and think Kent State can catch Iowa off-guard in the early going. We’re on Kent State to cover +22.5 on Saturday at DraftKings ➜.
