NASCAR at Texas: Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 Odds & Picks

With his victory last weekend at Kansas, Joey Logano clinched a spot in the “Championship Four” to race for the NASCAR title in three weeks at Phoenix. But the driver he outdueled in Kansase remains the NASCAR betting odds favorite for the championship.

That’s Kevin Harvick, who lost the lead to Logano on a late pit stop but retains top championship odds at +150. Logano, who hadn’t won since before the coronavirus hiatus, actually is listed third for the title at top bookmakers — his +300 NASCAR Odds are also behind the +250 of Denny Hamlin, reflecting how often those top two drivers have won all season.

The final two races before Phoenix shape up very well for Harvick and Hamlin, beginning Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway, where both have won three times. So grab a Shiner Bock and some beef ribs, and delve into these best bets for NASCAR in Fort Worth.

Kevin Harvick to Win

It’s money time, so we’re going with the favorite who led the most laps at Kansas and remains the best on 1.5-mile tri-ovals like Texas. Harvick’s previous results on similar tracks have been second, fourth, fifth and fourth, and he hasn’t finished outside the top 10 on tri-ovals all season. This current four-race winless skid matches Harvick’s longest of the season — so Texas, where he hasn’t finished outside the top 10 since 2014, is an ideal place for him to break through. Get the best odds on Harvick at BetAmerica.

Denny Hamlin Top 3

It’s time for the two-man championship duel to materialize in earnest. Hamlin hasn’t matched Harvick’s consistency this season. And at Texas, a 2019 victory is Hamlin’s only top 10 in his past five starts. But his three career wins there give him a solid foundation and previous tri-oval results this season include a fifth at Atlanta, a runner-up at Charlotte and a win at Kansas in the spring. Ride with Hamlin at FOX Bet.

Kyle Busch Top 3

Complete your lead trio with a nice value pick for a driver with a great track record at Texas. Busch has been eliminated from title contention, but the guy still has a lot of pride and he no doubt wants to reach Victory Lane before the season ends. Texas, where he has won three times and finished in the top-10 in three straight starts, might represent his best chance. Busch finished fourth in Fort Worth in the spring. Wager on Busch for a top-3 run at FanDuel.

Ford Winning Manufacturer

Not the best value, but the number reflects Ford’s strength at Texas and this season overall. The blue oval bunch has won three of the past six in the Lone Star State — all of them by Harvick — and Logano’s victory at Kansas was the manufacturer’s 18th triumph in 32 events this year. A Ford wager covers Harvick, Logano, Brad Keselowski and Ryan Blaney, who are all capable of winning on a fast tri-oval. Bank on the blue oval at Resorts.

Aric Almirola Top 10

Almirola is another Ford driver who can hold his own at Texas. Over the past four races there, he has earned more points than anybody besides Harvick, Logano and the Busch brothers. Harvick’s teammate at Stewart-Haas has finished in the top 10 at Texas in four straight races and has led 100 laps there in his last three starts combined. Texas sets up as an ideal place for Almirola to snap a string of four races outside the top 10. Take Almirola for a top-10 day at PointsBet.

Erik Jones Top 10

No, the value isn’t great. But Jones has been downright ridiculous at Texas, with top 10s in each of the past six races there including three fourth-place results. He has also run well of late, with finishes of eighth or better in four of his last five in 2020. With a ride sewn up for next season at Richard Petty Motorsports, Jones might also be worth a +700 flyer to snag a top-three. If you agree, grab these odds with DraftKings.

Kurt Busch Top Chevrolet

Looking for value? Find it with the elder Busch brother. Other than the soon-to-be-retired Jimmie Johnson (seven wins in Fort Worth), Busch offers easily the best track record among Chevrolet drivers at Texas. Chase Elliott is the Chevy favorite at +140 but he has managed just one top-10 in his past five starts in Fort Worth. Busch is on a run of seven straight top 10s in Fort Worth, including eighth earlier this season. He continues to defy expectations with Chip Ganassi’s team. Ride with the elder Busch brother at Unibet.
