Kalshi Trades More Than $1 Billion On Super Bowl 60 Markets; Sportsbooks Cash On Props, Under

Kalshi traded more than $1 billion million on Super Bowl 60, figures on the prediction market showed said Tuesday. That includes more than $589 million in game-outcome related trades, and another $275 million on outcomes concerning the halftime show, TV commercials, and celebrity appearances. As of Monday, the figure stood at more than $865 million. The platform released its numbers concerning "Combos" - or parlays - on Tuesday, boosting the numbers.
Following Seattle's 29-13 victory over New England, the site's "Pro Football Champion" market surpassed the $500 million figure. Some trades on the site were delayed in being posted during the game, Kalshi said, but trades were executed in real time.
Kalshi said Tuesday it saw a 2700% increase over last year in trading volume.
The final number posted early Monday morning was $500,171,547. That market opened last February after NFL Super Bowl 59.
In the two weeks following the AFC and NFC Championship Games, the platform booked more than $350 million in trades in its Super Bowl-winner market.
In addition the platform booked $52,221,340 in trades in its Super Bowl MVP market, Seattle running back Kenneth Walker III won that award. He traded around 19 cents to win $1 it at kickoff. The market opened on January 9.
Kalshi's prop markets, which included multiple TD trades, and passing, rushing and receiving totals, totaled $37.095 million. Its top prop market was "Anytime TD" that booked $14,8 million.
Early Monday, Kalshi had already taken in more than $856,000 on its 2027 Pro Football Championship market. The Seahawks are the early favorites at 13 cents, followed by the Rams (10 cents) and Patriots (7).

Sportsbooks Projected To Handle $1.76 Billion
Before the Super Bowl, the American Gaming Association said legal, regulated sportsbooks would handle more than $1.76 billion on the game. And the AGA's figure does not include the handle from the Hard Rock Bet book in Florida. That operates as a monopoly by the Seminole Tribe under a gaming compact.
The game-related figures on Kalshi do not represent the entire prediction market space. Polymarket, which remains in limited United States release, along with Robinhood, Crypto.Com/Fanatics, DraftKings Predictions and FanDuel Predicts operate legal prediction markets under the Commodities Futures Trading Corporation. All those sites offered similar Super Bowl-related trades.
Kalshi's trades are booked worldwide, while the AGA's estimate was based on legal trading in the United States alone. Prediction market trading volume is analogous to sports betting handle, but it is not an exact comparison. Before the Super Bowl, Kalshi's app enjoyed more than 3 million downloads in January. That number far eclipsed those of regulated books like FanDuel and DraftKings. Those books, however, have already significantly saturated their markets.
All the CFTC regulated markets can offer sports-related trades - for now. Kalshi offers sports related trades in all 50 states - for now. A Massachusetts judge Friday entered a preliminary injunction that forces the site to geofence its sports-related trades out of the Commonwealth within 30 days. Kalshi has appealed.
Non-Game Trades Soar: Bad Bunny First Song $113M
Kalshi's volume on non-game Super Bowl-related trades included the following
- Bad Bunny’s halftime opener? $113,517,455
- What songs will be played at the halftime show? $4,812,959
- Who will perform at the Big Game? $47,345,230
- How long will the halftime show last? $1,495,478
- Who will attend the Big Game? $36,374,549
- Which brands will advertise during the Big Game? $72,200,453
Those trades added another $275,746,124 to Kalshi's Super Bowl totals.
All of these trades would remain legal in Massachusetts under its pending injunction, and are available in all 50 states.
Strong Showing For Sports Books Thanks To Low Score
The Super Bowl 60 betting handle in Nevada fell to a 10-year low, according to numbers released by the state. Nevada sportsbooks reported $133.8 million in Super Bowl handle across the state’s 186 licensed books. That marks an 11.7% decline year over year from 2025’s $151.6 million. More telling: this was the lowest Super Bowl handle since 2016, when bettors wagered $132.5 million on Broncos–Panthers. Even during pandemic-restricted Super Bowl LV in 2021, Nevada books still cleared $136 million.
Legal sportsbooks in the United States enjoyed a positive hold on the game. While volume numbers were not immediately available, several trends left the books in the black following the big game. A low-scoring (below 45.5 points) helped, along with no touchdowns being scored by Seattle WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and JSN falling below his projected totals in receptions and yards.
"Super Bowl bettors cashed in on the Seahawks covering. The under hitting and only four touchdowns being scored was a great result for us." said Christian Cipollini, Senior Trading Manager, BetMGM.
